Seems kind of crazy with the top fitness trainers that you only pay a few bucks and you get all that content for free. Did anyone really think that would happen. Not only you get the videos which cost a penny but you also get the integration within XBL and Kinect which I am sure also cost a penny to do for all those videos.

Do not get me wrong, I have my issue with how MS ties a lot of stuff behind XBL but this one no. If the wealth of videos and features equal to what I have seen so far, this will be a nice feature. Yes it would be great if it came with XBL but then again it would be better if it was free as well. People should stop looking for handouts all the time as this stuff isn't free to make and keep updated.

I actually think it's the other way. The costs of making this app are ridiculously low. And I mean really ridiculously low. The videos are already made and they aren't changing a single thing in them. The only thing they are adding is the integration, but all the Kinect software needed to detect movement is already made, so no added costs here. The moves are also pretty basic, there isn't many of them, as there are probably 20-25 exercises max in a workout, so... Yeah. Looks extremely basic and easy to be done by any single studio. There are tons of people who could do that in their basement in a manner of days. I actually do believe a single modest subscribtion should be enough to get all the content. The only thing here is MS has to share the money with Beachbody, which made the videos and will probably lose a part of their DVD sales, but on the other hand MS is expanding the market for them. So yeah, I see no reason to justify such a model of payment and I sure won't support it.

It probably would depend on how many videos.  Developing the app for each video probably is the same or takes as much development hours as coding for Dance central as the technology appears to be similar.  Without know how many development hours spent to do the app it would be hard to determine if the cost is low or high.  I would think its a very maual process so the time would be high.

As for supporting the service, I think I will wait unit I get all the info.  Like the OP, you can jump to conclusions with limited info.  I personally want to see the full features and support for the service to make an informed opinion.

Just saw this over on the Microsoft fitness webpage.

"*Xbox Fitness coming Holiday 2013. Starting January 2015, unlimited access requires a paid Xbox Fitness Pass subscription and an Xbox Live Gold membership (both sold separately). Additional Xbox Fitness content is available for purchase""

Why  people ? why you tolerate this ?  PAY, PAY, PAY!!, right now I see MS as the troll of gaming, and like the meme says "Don't feed the troll".

I watched the Insanity video using this kinect thing, I don't see any reason why you can't  grab the DVD put in your DVD player and start using it, why you need Kinect ? I mean why ?
