Sounds awesome.

Cold load = 10 seconds?

Is that it? Im impressed. 10 seconds. That is impressive.

Skype cold loads in 5 seconds on my two year old smartphone...

Really? Just tried this on Samsung Galaxy S4 and Nokia Lumia 1020.

S4 from start to sign in was 27 seconds.

Lumia was 18 seconds.

Please can I have your old phone. It beats my 2 new ones.

I'm surprised you'd even want to use an iPhone, but my contract is up in a month so I'm planning to upgrade mine shortly. It's a 32GB 4S, and my carrier will unlock it for a modest fee. I figure it's worth about $300. Still interested?

Since you can go to Amazon.Com and find 8 just from Logitech that cost over $200 says that many people dont think that $5 remote does the job.

8 above and how many below?

Now how many $500? $400? $300?

Your serous right? The most expensive remote was $449.  So for $50 more MS throws in the rest of the capabilities of the Xbox One.  It doesnt matter how many below.  The point is there is a big market for making control of home theater systems a whole hell of a lot easier. Do you want to know how many above $100.  Again many people are spending above $100 for a freaking remote control.  Hey Logitech even sells an adapter so that you can use one of their high end remotes with a PS3 for $40 at Amazon. So you spend over $100 then spend $40 more to control the PS3.  Must be a market for it.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

I am serious. But you only seemed to have answered one of my questions because it suited you. This is referred to as the cherry-picking fallacy.

Is it safe to assume that most remotes are <$100 and perform basically the same function as the higher end remotes with the difference being convenience?

LOL, since we're talking about remotes here, I highly recommend this one:

http://www.logitech.com/en-ca/product/harmony-smart-control?crid=60

Works with PS3 without adapter. Well, mostly. It fails to turn off the PS3 half the time because of the damn convoluted way Sony decided to handle turning off their hardware. Also, the setup process can be kinda painful, took me about 3 hours. But after that, you're using one remote, or your smartphone, for all your AV needs.

If you really want a fully functional remote control I can sell you a control4 or RTI system for the measly sum of about £5000, depending on how much you wanted to control.

Awesome for those who care about things other than games.

So does individual remotes. Have a console, a AV receiver, a TV, a BR player, and a Cable/DirectTv box each has an individual remote so I guess who needs a Universal Remote othe then for convenience?
