But, but, what if it doesn't have achievements!!!!!!!!
| DialgaMarine said: So, I recently read an article on N4G that talked about how Nintendo should adopt it's own Trophy/ Achievement system, and it made me realise something. The lack of such a system is the reason why I have yet to purchase a single game for the system and can't enjoy it. I started getting into the whole trophy game when Sony patched it in back in 2008. I'm not sure why, but it's become a crucial part of the gaming experience for me. It adds a whole new side to the gaming experience by creating a fun way for people across a gaming network to compete while at the same showing how well and how much they play the games they enjoy. Virtually every popular gaming network has it nowadays, and it's that Nintendo has still yet to adopt it themselves. For some reason (for me anyways) earning a notional trophy just makes it feel like you got something out of your game, even if you don't technically get anything out of it. I hope Nintendo pulls a Sony and puts some sort of system in place. It would definitely convince me to take my system out of it's box if I could earn a platinum trophy in Mario/ SSB. Mabye it's just me, but hey, even if you guys disagree that it's not necessary to gaming, I'm you can agree that it's a good thing to have nonetheless. Right? What do you guys think? I think you are a bougie elitist with ulterior motives and a finite agenda trying to get across. But that's just me. What do you guys think?
Still, it would be cool if Nintendo did that though.

If the game turns out as good as it looks, I can live without them.
| KylieDog said: I see a lot of Nintendo fans criticising trophies/achievements, yet they are no different to trying to collect every Pokemon in a Pokemon game. Why do it? Most of the catching/evolving is just a grind, 90% of them wil not be used, the reward for catching them all is meaningless. Yet you do it. |
No, I don't.

I don't play Pokemon.

I understand your point, it's just wrong. I play games because the process of doing so is fun. If I'm not having fun, I stop playing. No arbitrary rewards are necessary.
Achievements were invented to get people to play bad games.

People who crave a achievement are still in the mindset of a 5 year old child. A gold star sticker/ Yay well done. Fuck man I have gaming systems that span 30 years and play older and newer games alike. It's the enjoyment I play for. Some games are challenging I feel I accomplished something with hard work...not because I farted 10 times one day or walked around the corner and got a burrito. Today's world mostly younger people need this instant gratification all the time like a drug. Someone liked some pointless bullshit you said on twitter. You get a virtual sticker by starting an online match. It's damn pathetic
