Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo's latest survey wants to know what you think of online play

Seem Nintendo is aiming to improve their online experience, after the minor backlash of Super Mario 3D World not having online or Mr. Miyamoto commenting on how their focus isn't online multiplayer ,but more local, even though the Wii U have the technical power to do online. If you have club Nintendo, I suggest you check it out, it even include the other consoles as well.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.

I voted 1 - Not interested at all.
Multiplayer is not fun if the people aren't in the room.

Voted 4 for online, 7 for local. It's nice to have online multiplayer, but local is much better, much more fun, and much more alive. I'd gladly sacrifice online multiplayer to save local; I wouldn't do the reverse.

Anyway, easy 10 points :)

I voted 7 - extremely important.

2014 is right around the corner, time to catch up Nintendo.

Local multiplayer is there for people who want and are obsessed with it even if its the minority. The Majority are yearning for online.

Edit: Oooh nice 10 coins :D

The majority are not gamers thats the problem :)

The less Nintendo tries to please everyone the better their games are.  Mainstreamers are cancer to every kind of industry be it movies gaming etc.

Tbh if WiiU just sells 40m this generation   I'd say  thank god  because more smart gamers. (Galaxy2 Prime3 and SkywardSword were streamlined because of mainstream gamers (no hub/connected world)  Seriously who is not smart enough to chose a level in a hub world?rofl)

back on topic

Local > online but if they add online then:

No fee (stupiud greedy companies, let people pay that want dev-hosted servers, I want to make my own "servers"/games like back in the day on PC and only play with friends no stupid strangers)

NO chose level/character 30 second bullshit.....    Brawl and Mario Kart on Wii were plaqued with that crap.

also NO     time limit multiplayer modes like in Mario Kart Wii's battle mode . (playing for 5 mins really? Let me chose settings   1 min or infinity. 100 live mode etc...  MORE settings!)

Let people join or leave games  do not only offer modes that force me to wait 10 minutes for every player to join and then dont force me to play the game untill the round is over. (if you want to leave please reset the console.....) Let me join or leave whenever I want. (as long as the mode allows it.  Brawl of course should not have this)

there was a backlash for mario 3d world not having online?

local > online for me

This is exactly why I only ever played Dark Moon online once...

Why they thought that was a good way to structure the online is completely beyond me...

It's almost as of they didn't play it themselves first...

Have a nice day...

I voted extremely important with added voice chat for games like smash bros and mario kart 8 because typing is to slow.

I think they've gotten the message O.O

To be fair though, Pokemon X/Y had plenty of online features.

I'd rather not hear people talk.  Usually it is just people talking shit.  I wouldn't mind talking to friends but I don't care to listen to most dickfucks.  MH3U voice chat is decent because it is a cooperative game.  However, for FPS and other type of games I'd rather not hear someone talking shit.

Dont MP FPS games usually have a option to block someone/mute someone? I know CS GO does or at least Source from when I remembered playing it.

Yep, you can mute people (CoD:BO was the only Wii game that I used headset, used Wii Speak for MH3 and Animal Crossing).  Just tired of people talking trash or accusing you of cheating just because they did shitty.  Voice chat is nice for some games but FPS brings out the worst in people.
