It feels like people are trying to convince others that the game is good and if they say it enough times people will start to believe them, I think I saw at least half a dozen Ryse threads.

Maybe because in the last few days they released a plethora of videos of Ryse and people are genuinely excited for the game.  God forbid people be excited for something.

So for now on people DONT BE EXCITED AND POST NOTHING!  ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Or just make one official thread and post everything there...

Perhaps people are genuinely excited? It's a game website after all, the whole point is to talk about games you enjoy.

On the flip side, people like you think that if they say the game is bad enough times people will start to believe them.

Well half of them are hyping it up, and the other half are trying to convince everyone it'll be shit.

Clearly it's a polarizing game.
Not surprising when you think about it. Xbox fans have to hype it because it has far and away the best visuals of the launch games on the system, and lack of power is what others keep throwing in their face. Playstation fans have to remind everyone how boring and stale it will no doubt be because they have to distract from the fact that Ryse looks arguably better than anything on PS4, thus kind of putting a bit of a damper on their whole POWAH! parade.

Anyway......as hard as it may be for some of you to believe, there are actually people excited to play it. Maybe it's because they love the Roman era, maybe they like simple hack and slash games, maybe they're just graphic whores and want something that showcases their new system. They have every right to be hyped about the game.

And no....the irony of you complaining about Ryse threads in a self created Ryse thread isn't lost on me.

Ryse doesn't look better than KZ. It may looks more realistic but then KZ isn't going for realism. But besides that I wouldn't say Ryse is polarizing. Most people talking about loving it or hating haven't played it. For all we know it could end up being the best game this year or it could be Haze 2. Especially after Crytek bought the Haze developers. Might have rubbed off on the main team. God that game sucked. Sorry for getting completely off point.

It's funny that you compare Ryse to KZ, both are praised for their graphics, both are downplayed for their gameplay.

Anyway, as you said, Ryse (and I would add KZ:SF) could end up being GOTY, even if the chances are slim.

Time, and not preemptive threads, will tell. And maybe we should only start threads when there is something new to report about the game itself.

A year in which both "The Last of Us" and "GTA V" came out will surely not see any other goty contenders.

Others?  These people are trying to convince themselves the game is good.  Convincing others is extra.  I can admit that I've tried myself to do the very same after buying Final Fantasy 12 day one only to dislike the game overall.  Eventually it's something they'll admit to themselves that it's just a bad game.

People should be excited about Ryse, its a new IP and new IPs are always welcome.

They had an interview with Phil Spencer and was able to clear up a lot of my worries with the game. I think the final product will be fine and not the shitbag mix I saw at PAX.

Ryan McCaffery is a major Xbox fanboy. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but a journalist should be more unbiased.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Lol when have I ever made a negative Ryse thread?  Don't try to group me up with other people.
