Playstation won. It had the best and most diverse gaming library, just like ps2 did.

The PS3 will win this gen, but none of them have won yet. The Wii will finish second even if the 360 slightly outsells it. If the 360 greatly outsells the Wii (highly doubtful), then it will be second.
It's been a mixed bag for all three though.
The PS3 lost A LOT of money and marketshare, but is best positioned for next gen. From a distant third, SONY worked really hard to take itself to the number one spot by the time this gen is over.
The Wii made a lot of money, but catered to the wrong audience, and is now dead. It also put itself in the worst position for next gen.
The 360 ushered in online play for consoles, but hasn't done much else. MS took a lot of marketshare from Sony, but squandered its early lead and is now trying to limp to a 3rd place finish in sales and (distant second)profits. MS also hasn't put itself in the best position for next gen, but they have a lot of time and money to fix that if they're smart about it.
I am the Playstation Avenger.

Ask when the gen is over. For those of you saying a new one starting ends the previous gen, if a person has a child do they automatically die?

Wii wins in sales and exclusives, but PS3 had better multiplatform games like Red Dead Redemption and Arkham City, along with some nice exclusives itself such as The Last of Us. It's close. I have both systems and enjoy them. That said, it was a big dropoff in sales and game quality from for the PS3 from the previous generation, whereas the Wii saw a huge increase in sales, and I think the Wii had better games than the Gamecube, but not by a ton. So you have to take that into account. This generation saw Sony knocked down a peg and Nintendo get back in the game. If the Wii sold worse than the Gamecube, they could have been on a continued path to Sega.
In my opinion the winner of the generation is Microsoft.
They managed to gain almost 60 milion of new users and they created a high brand awareness around the Xbox name. Normal people don't see a real and big difference between an Xbox 360 and a PS3 and that's thanks to Microsoft actions in order to gather third party titles. Kinect was a major factor too, but not decisive.
Nintendo basically killed themselves with the WiiU and with the Wii too. Wii was a real revolution, but it has been difficult to handle with the right strategy. For Nintendo the Wii was the last opportunity in the console market and, initially, it was really successful, but when the sales died off Nintendo didn't understand how to react properly. The WiiU still has to show its real potential, but I can't see it as an appealing machine to the market.
Sony, on the other hand, is the clear loser of this whole generation. Yes, I know that they made the biggest turnaround of gaming history, but, I mean, the starting point was a two generations of total domination! At the beginning, in 2006 and 2007, the situation was really critical, but at least they have been able to save the Playstation brand, thanks to the PS3 first party support.

Did you not see Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith?

We can't compare a new born to a piece of plastic box. The generations is going to be over once the PS4 and Xbox One releases. The PS3 had an excellent run, and made an impressive turn around but it's not the "winner".
Besides what Jay said! We won in the end!
"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"
On all 3 of your criteria in the opening post. Wii wins. Most sales, most profit and tactically the most sound. Less hardware issues, great price and they got their message across (MS can't win when they killed it with a huge failure rate on their machines).
Hmm, pie.
