Wii wins in sales and exclusives, but PS3 had better multiplatform games like Red Dead Redemption and Arkham City, along with some nice exclusives itself such as The Last of Us. It's close. I have both systems and enjoy them. That said, it was a big dropoff in sales and game quality from for the PS3 from the previous generation, whereas the Wii saw a huge increase in sales, and I think the Wii had better games than the Gamecube, but not by a ton. So you have to take that into account. This generation saw Sony knocked down a peg and Nintendo get back in the game. If the Wii sold worse than the Gamecube, they could have been on a continued path to Sega.
