In some weird way you can tell that the PS4 has way more details just by looking at this. |
Yeah that's only because the PS4 version has better color balance. Nothing to do with quality.
Guess I should have put a comment on the gif so people don't think it's some high tech analysis lol.

Nah ...
Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

I was hoping it would have next gen quality and be close to XBONE, but that's not happening anymore. |
I never expected much more than current gen. Aren't you a dev of some kind? Do you know something about the Wii U's capabilities that we don't?

Yeah I'm an indie dev doing stuff with wii u and PS4. Basically I was hoping the wii u version would be the same as next gen, just with everything scaled down. Instead it's the current gen version with resolution scaled up.

Oh I see. Thanks.

I have the Wii U version, and it's definitely not maxing the hardware, it's way behind stuff like Need for Speed Most Wanted U graphically.
That said, I didn't expect it to take advantage of the chipset, I got it for the Wiimote gunplay, so I'm happy.

Well. Considering the Multiples higher performance the Playstation 4 offers over the current gen... There really isn't much in it at all, besides the PS4 having higher contrast in the video and a higher resolution and better Anti-Aliasing.
Basically, if you already own a PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 or WiiU, there really is no point buying a Playstation 4 or Xbox One just for this game, the jump in graphical fidelity just ain't there.
My take from it is that, essentially the game is built for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, then scaled upwards to other platforms, not really pushing any of the hardware, WiiU included.

You are confusing "current gen graphics" capability with "current gen graphics" ports. Either that or you're kidding.
Wii U will hold up fine in a couple years vs. Xbone and PS4, as far as ports, and exclusives. The only area they might run into trouble, is the amount of RAM and the processor. The GPU is fine, and in fact doubles as a co-processor. And 2gb of ram is also fine, as is the BluRay sized disc capacity. But when it comes to any games that actually take advantage of the 8gbs of RAM or greater processing power of the PS4, for example, where the Wii U (if it gets a multiplat port of that game) will have any major noticable differences. At the same time, there are going to be Wii U games a couple of years from now that will absolutely look and function on par with the other consoles.
As has been said in other threads, this gen is not about a "power gap" as was the case with Wii vs. PS360, but rather scalability of engines, as there is a noticable difference from Wii U, to Xbox One, and then PS4.

I wans't confusing them, I was flat out refering to the second ;) My post was just about this game, not the wii u in general.
