Forums - Sony - Does Sony Cater To Arrogant Fans?

Sony claims to have humbled themselves, yet their entire marketing strategy has really been based on the question of "how can we show that we are better than Microsoft directly?"

I could understand the point of the article until this bit.

If Microsoft weren't handing them reason after reason to take a dig, then they'd have nothing to go on.  But things just keep going wrong for them again and again (the latest being resolution).  If you're in business and you don't take massive opportunites like this to stick the knife in further, then I'd question why you're in business at all.

That, and it's all viral marketing anyway that I've seen.  All the actual marketing I've seen has been shockingly similar to Microsoft's (i.e. Perfect Day vs. Invitation).

No. But this thread caters to people who thinks it does and they will enter to try and justify their belief

LOL, yep, pretty much sums it up. All fanbases have every type of fan period.

Well of course they do(XBOX and Nintendo has annoying fans as well) but these assumptions are guided towards sony more than the other two and is actually very common.  There is plenty of conspiracy theories on the situation actually.  Is that coincidence or is there some truth to it?

Ummm no, they are conspiracy theories for a reason.

Yep, totally agree, good post.

Do you ever play online on XBL? Spend some time playing online games on XBL with a headset on and tell me Sony has the most arrogant fans...

People seems to forget that when you manage a bussiness you take all the legal (and some time illegal or unethical) steps you can to secure sucess. There is no childish bullying or jab, there is childish fanboys on each side that get offended... but everybody knows both companies and their professionals respect and fears each other (and even after saying all of that on public many of them would change seats on a heartbeat).

You can easily create a thread for MS on this one with just Aaron Greenburg quotes. The last 7 years between the two sides has been mud slinging back and forth. So yes Sony caters to arrogant fans, their core fans just like MS does/did with their fans last gen.

I have to give you my thanks JayWood2010! This quotes are golden xD.

"I believe we made the most beautiful thing in the world."

That one is excellent. I never experienced first hand the arrogance of Sony as at the time, I didn't browse the internet that much, buy oh my god these quotes are hilarious!

OT: I think that some fans can be arrogant but then again, there are arrogant fans on every type of fandom. I don't think it's exclusive to Sony!

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

But seriously Microsoft already got caught paying someone to badmouth linux, they probably did the Same with Wii u. I find that business way more evil.

I would say it comes from within the company itself. I think the fans are reflective of the company. There is a reason Sony Pictures has the worst reputation in town.

Nothing wrong with being proud of one's accomplishments, but looking down on others 'just because' isn't very kind.

For example the other two major players do much more for charity to help others. It's just part of their nature and the way the companies run.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Well my wife and me think PS3 is the most beautifull console ever created (more than PS4 and the others)
