As many of you clearly remember, the motion gaming was a pretty big deal in the 7th generation of consoles. Wii broke records at launch, it was unbeatable. Then Kinect came and it also broke records (the amount of records available is never short of amazing). It is no surprising that, on the eve of the launch of the next generation consoles, they are still a big deal. Despite the similarities in the technology behind them, the media is acting like Kinect is significantly superior, and for a variety of reasons, it is not true. The Kinect seems to have technical lead right out of the gate, but it is too early lo hand it the decisive victory. Sİnce when the most powerful hardware sells the most anyway?
The most important fact to remember is that people who can actually tell the difference between them are few and far between. When you read stuff about them on the internet, people make it seem like PS Eye is garbage and Kinect is the second coming of Christ. In reality, casuals don't care. They can't tell the difference. They are stupid, idiotic morons.
Let's say, Kinect is actually much superior powerwise. It was never about power, anyway. Was Kinect 1 able to play games like Zelda or Super Mario? Of course not. Will it be able to play Play Room? Of course not.
One of the most important things is also price. Kİnect probably adds at least 150$ to the Xbone price. You can buy the Eye for 60$. That is at least 90$ saved for games. At least.
I can say more, but I think point is taken. They both track body movements. Both have voice recognition, gesture recognition, facial recognition. The differences are negligible. Considering the price though, PS Eye is a much better buy.
