I read something on this earlier that it was supposed to be a 3DS Wii exclusive, but Nintendo apparently didn't supply funding so it transitioned to multiplatform across 360, PS3 and Wii U. Then, George Lucas wanted a massive vision change for the game (wanting it to change to a sort of buddy cop game with another sith lord). Disagreements led to fallout and loss of Star Wars license.
