So, I get why they named world 7 and world 8, world castle and world bowser respectively. But once you get to World Castle-Castle that is just ridiculous naming .

Coincidentally I finished Layton now, here's a couple of observations I'd like to make (heavy spoilers obviously):

I'm still a tad confused as to who Professor Sycamore is. Is he the person who became Descole, or is he the person who becomes Sycamore? I can't decide who goes first, but I think it goes Hershal--(Theodore's Adoption by the Layton's)-->Sycamore--(Murder of his family)-->Descole, but I'm not sure. And who were his family anyway, or does he just mean his brother and parents'?

Coincidentally, being able to "turn back time" was an excuse for them writing themselves into a corner with this being a prequel trilogy. Aside from the first game (and it could still easily have worked), there was no reason for this to be a prequel. Had it ended with them all dying, I think maybe it would have had a bigger impact. At least someone, like Emmy, to atone for he sins. 

Oh, and whilst we're on the topic, Emmy's reasoning seemed a little bit washy. She goes on adventures for 3 years, helping them to solve cases just for that one moment, because "Bronev is all she has"? Descole was bad enough with those few months, but still...I feel like they should have streched it out a little more at the end. There was no need to "rush" through all the key plot points because you spent half the game doing a (fun) fetch-quest which was completely pointless anyway if all you needed to do to get in was put a couple numbers in a dice.

Now, I loved this game (some of the puzzles were excellent, the settings and new characters were top-tier also), and would rank it just behind Lost Future overall. But, I do feel as though the ending in particular could have been improved, had they merely said it carried on from Lost Future and Luke just came back rather than what it was. I mean, why does no-one mention Aurora, Emmy, Descole, Bronev or the Azran in the next three games? Particularly Descole and Emmy, obviously. It seems a bit far-fetched when you think of it like that. 

But still, great game and if the series ends here, I'll be sad but at least it ended on a high.

Already have. That entrance into World Bowser is something sublime, I couldn't believe a Nintendo game was pulling those kind of graphics in real-time. Last time I was wowed by a game, I was playing Crysis 2 with the Ultra definition pack. 

The more I play SM3DW, the more I don't get why people costantly bash the Wii U. Rarely have been seen this kind of technical prowress on the PS3/360.

Yeah, there' a decent amount of technical wizardry in the game, particularly some of the later levels. The Plessie one in particular stands out, however, bashing is just what "cool" people do it would seem.

Layton's brother, before adopting the persona of Descole, was called professor Sycamore. He did have a proper family (wife and daughter) that had died, but it's not given a proper explanation on to how they died and how much influence Targent had on it. This particular tidbit is explained in a bonus trunk episode that's unlocked once you complete the game/bonus puzzles. He had a breakdown and became Jean Descole in order resume his quest to bring down Targent for what they did to his original family as well.

And I agree that Emmy's "betrayal" was a bit iffy due to it's suddeness/rushedness. Maybe they wanted to convey that she secretly had some hope that Professor Layton could redeem Bronev after all that she had seen from their travels together, but the execution was more for the WTF factor than an actual logical reason. 

From what I got from the ending and some of the bonus trunk episodes is that both Layton and Luke chose to leave all that business behind them. Layton because even though he had gone through some major revelations regarding his true origins, chose to follow his life as Hershel Layton just as he always had, and Luke because he believe that was what Aurora would have wanted. Also, some slight indications were given that some time had passed between the destruction of the Azran Sanctuary and Layton&Luke going into St. Mystere to solve the case of the Golden Apple.

It's a shame though, I really liked the character of Aurora. Wouldn't mind if they revisit her in the future (since her final words were her wish to be reborn as a human being), should they dwelve into a new trilogy. I doubt they'd make a new one though, since Layton's character has been explored to all possible degrees (his true origins, his missing best friend, his dead girlfriend/the person that made him a gentleman).

It has to be from the Wii store (either a normal Wii or in Wii mode inside the Wii U). The Club Nintendo page is very misleading.

Sorry about the lack of me this 2 days... There was a holiday in my city and some friends of my mom stayed here for two days. I was about to pos the news of the 13th, but my mom wanted me to socialize!
