Currently, it “renders the scene in 1600*900 and outputs in 1080p with extra crisp UI”. Of course, Legend of Kay Anniversary still runs at 60 frames per second, and features full screen anti-aliasing." http://nintendoeverything.com/legend-of-kay-anniversary-now-outputs-at-1080p-on-wii-u/ So that means the game runs at 900p but they are up scaling it to 1080p? Kind of like how Nintendo up scales games from 720p to 1080p. |
It seems like the game renders at 900p and the UI runs at full 1080p. They probably use an internal upscaler from 900p to 1080p and not the hardware upscaling that outputs every game in 1080p not matter what the internal resolution is. Otherwise they couldn't use two different resolutions.
Thierolf's career somewhat went downhill, but he still knows his technical stuff.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

This happened 10 years ago today.
I remember back my NGC owning friends were really stoke about it, the audience reaction is priceless, the way Iwata just pulls it out of his pocket its really well done.
As for me? I was excited for Resident Evil 4 :P

Stagnant was just the word I chose in the lack of a better one. Although it has been 5 years since the last Metroid game, that's nothing compared to other franchises.
If I had to put my money on any Nintendo franchise making a comeback this E3, it would be Metroid.

You could have used "dormant" to describe it.
In any case, I also agree with you two with Metroid. Besides, 2016 will mark the 30º anniversary of Metroid so it makes perfect sense to launch a game in 2016... even if Nintendo already screwed the 25º one.
Please excuse my bad English.
