Up until today, I have been using the Classic Controller for most of my Wii U games (not really a fan of the GamePad for more intensive games). So I looked into buying a Pro Controller. I waited on buying one because of the price and I thought the button layout looked kind of awkward, but I decided to take the dive.

Luckily it worked out! It feels very comfortable to hold,  the button layout feels natural and like you said, just the right weight. I am definitely looking forward to using this for games like Bayonetta, Hyrule Warriors and going back to 100% 3D World. It also works pretty well with VC games too which is nice. Overall, definitely worth the purchase.

On the gamepad bit, I often wonder if wwhat launched is actually a bit...rushed.  It's a great design concept that augments rather than trying to replace traditional control inputs.  But it feels like it has a lot of superfluous features in it that just make it bulkier than need be.  I think if the Wii U had had one more year in the oven, one major change probably would have been the gamepad, probably moving the form factor more in the direction of traditional controlers for more comfort.

I definitely agree, if the GamePad was just slimmer and a more ergonomic design,  it would have been an entirely different story.

I think a lot of things this gen are the result of a rush to market.  I think Nintendo pushed the Wii U ahead when they realized they could get the drop on Sony and MS.  Which they did, to their credit on that point; MS and Sony were entirely taken off guard at E3 2011 and it was pretty obvious.  And that prompted Sony and MS to repsond before they were ready.   I think if this whole thing had waited a year (Wii U 2013 and XBone/PS4 2014), a lot of things would have been different.

Some more XCX screens for your viewing pleasure!

I didn't post all of them just so I wouldn't flood the page, but you can find the rest here: http://nintendoeverything.com/another-wave-of-xenoblade-chronicles-x-screenshots-art/?pid=80759

Hearing you say the Pro Controller is your fav is rather surprising to me. Usually it`s the PS4 and XB1`s controller being the general favorite and not the Pro Controller. But yeah, it`s a good controller too, although I don`t like how they switched the 2nd stick and buttons. I liked them the other way around.

I've tried both the PS4 and XBO's controllers and while they are good, I don't find them as comfortable or satisfying to use. I can't really explain it. DualShock 4 is definitely a step up from DualShock 3 though.

Haha, I see! For me, the XB1 controller felt the worst out of the 3, but it`s still not bad. The PS4`s controller is great, though I feel like I can`t give it too much credit. It`s been mostly the same controller since the start, so It`d been getting upgrades throughout the PS`s different consoles rather than changing it.

Nintendo news of 15/04/2015:

  • Media Create: Last week, the 3DS sold 26k units, and the Wii U sold 7k units. The best selling Nintendo games were Mario Party 10 (wut? A Wii U game?) and Xenoblade 3D with 9k units, followed by Assassination Classroom with 8k units, and YW2.5 and Theatrhythm Dragon Quest with 7k units both.
  • Super Smash Bros. 4 update 1.0.6 released today. It brought Mewtwo to the game's roster, sharing online, a balance patch, and a few more details; here are all the details on the changes to the characters. But it brought a little glitch...
  • More XenoX Doll videos, and an interview with the devs about different topics. Also, some Shulk concept art.
  • A patch for Citizens of Earth has released.
  • Unseen64 takes a look at Metroid Prime's Beta, cuts, and changes during development! I recommend reading it
  • Ryu and Roy roumors for Smash 4 DLC are floating around.
  • Baby Park will be a 7 freaking laps track!!! And in Anti-gravity!

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Yeah, its not working, way too large.

Really like if Nintendo gave us digital data for X / Y as well as AC, the ship data of both is way higher than what's here, and its not like X / Y are selling anymore.

I am hoping that MM&B is the Super Famicom version but looking at the other game, it seems like it's gonna be GBA. Oh well, definitely interested in Battle Network and Zero 2 though.

Anyone find it interesting that there seems to be more 3rd party support for Wii U this year than in 2014? This year we're getting Guitar Hero Live, Project CARS, Rodea, Tantalus port, Legend of Kay, (maybe) Block Ops 3 in addition to the obvious stuff like Lego games, Just Dance and Skylanders. In comparison, 2014 only had the aforementioned obvious games and Watch Dogs.

Hopefully Wii U gets MH4U also.
