I really hope they offer the most exciting version: the DE. It's got the presentations and all but we get things we don't/didn't get on a normal ND: the intro between Reggie and Iwata, the Robot Chicken moments, the presentation done by the developers themselves talking about the game. It was really cool.
The TreeHouse demos were pretty cool!
A smaller tournament each day would be a good way to keep people coming... even if the same people!

Even if they go with a Digital Event, they won't repeat the same things they did last year, specially the battle between Iwata and Reggie. There's no Smash Bros to hype... although a water gun and baloons war would be cool, with Reggie dominating Iwata in a Rambo mode, only to be beaten by a sniper Miyamoto.

They saved announcements for the TreeHouse event last year? Don't remember anything... what was it?
You didn't like the pacing of the DE?

I think they announced CodeName STEAM during the TreeHouse live videos, but I'm not sure.

I think you are on to something there with that Splatoon idea...
They had rehearsals last year for that. I remember devs shooting each other with those splatoon head covers, last year.
Now, things just got real! :D
Project STEAM was announced during a dedicated press conference for a 3DS game.
@WhiteEagleP:
I remember that Reggie bit. It wasn't that long was it? :D It's not like the man talked for half the show.
STEAM was announced at a specific press conference.
Almost forgot that those games were announced during the TreeHouse event.
Still, i don't think that there announcing them at the DE would have been better. Almost nothing was shown about them.
