I read somewhere that Nintendo may announce a new system. Is that true? If so, when? I was planning on picking up a WiiU in a few months but i may just wait if that's true.

The rumor most compelling was some chip company saying they had a graphics chip release/announcing for a game console in 2016. While we have no idea what console it is or even if it's Nintendo. There does seem like a strong case. While I don't think we will see a Nintendo system launch until 2017. It maybe a bit concerning. But from what Nintendo has been saying about there new console, sounds a bit like they are still in the planning stage of it. But there really is no way to know. But, I will stick to that I think we will get the next handheld and main console in 2017.

That "chip company" is none other than AMD.

That GameXplain video was cool. Hope they do one for the Xenoblade trailer, because I just know I've missed an awful lot there.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I'm a little curious about what Nintendo will do with their next system. I really hope they don't release it until 2018 but they would need to be profitable on Wii U until then. Since it seems that might be difficult to do and they will be stretching out the 3DS line longer than they would like I can see it happening in 2017.

What makes me think that AMD is working with Nintendo is that AMD felt that they had to mention the architecture. I think if it was any other company the architecture wouldn't even be mentioned. Having said that I would rather Nintendo find some way to work with Nvidia for their hardware.

What AMD said is that they had won two APU project designs, one for an ARM product and the other one for an x86 that would go into production in 2016. And then added that one of those designs was for a videoconsole.

Now, given that AMD now works with both kind of devices, x86 and ARM, is normal that they mention the contracts they get for both of them as it shows confidence on its products, so it doesn't have to mean something about Nintendo.

With that said, Nintendo seems to be the kind of company that likes to keep its partners from one gen to the next one if things have gone well, and given that they have been with AMD since they were ATI, I do expect one of those projects to be for Nintendo.

I'm looking to buy a WiiU ( Europe), what's the difference between the 199 basic system and the 299 premium? Also what games can you guys recommend me, I'm mostly looking for Nintendo exclusives because I allready have an Xbox One

The basic model has 8 gb of inner memory, the Deluxe has 32 gb. The Basic is around 50€$ cheaper. That's the main difference. Also, I think the Deluxe still has that digital promotion, but I'm not sure about that.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

How quick does the memory fill if you only buy retail games?

Not overly quickly, but quick enough.

If you have no interest in eShop titles you may be able to get away with 8GB, but I'm pretty sure updates will eat up half of that.

Best to go with a 32GB then, also is a normal controller included ( or don't you need one?)
