Forums - Gaming - PS4 vs Xbox One Resolutions Wars: EDGE, Eurogamer, Ars Technica, TechRadar, More Soon

What I want to know is if you can tell the difference when the Xbox One version is snapping multiple apps at the same time. Xbox One can have a game look almost as good in full screen and snap Netflix or whatnot is a plus in my book.

Well if you snap a PS4 game and have it in a mini window you will have a nicer image =]

"The bottom line is that the resolution of each game is largely an artistic decision made by the developer, not a limitation of the hardware."

- Top comment selected by Ars Technica.

Perhaps googling "cognitive disability" will give these guys a better insight of their own condition.

Am I the only person who sits 4 feet away from there 50"?

55" here and sitting 9ft and less sometimes. And playing gams at 720p has been a joy. But if you have the hardware to do 1080p, let it be exploited and enjoy it even more.

From my experience out of the current gen fanboy wars, Sony fans were the most into conspiracy theories. i.e MS is paying everyone off to favour the 360.

What would Ars say when doing a comparison between (2) different GPUs and one was superior AND cheaper?

Would they really say it is a non issue?

It's funny, because they wouldn't.

I guess that writes ars technica off in my book.

And when the theories became facts?

Funny thing :

Here is what Kyle Orland wrote a month and a half ago: http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2013-09/10/vita-tv-and-microconsoles
"
Games made for the Vita's native resolution of 960 x 544 are going to look decidedly worse when stretched out onto a 1,080p HDTV screen, and they won't be able to handle as many moving parts under the hood as similar games on the PS3 or PS4."

That's fine if you're into playing great, simple games like Divekick or Lumines or Spelunky, games that are perfect for the subway or a long plane trip. But these are not the kinds of games that sell systems made for the living room. In general, people in the market for a game console want something that is going to make the most use of the expensive flat-screen TV and surround sound entertainment centre they've invested in. In that environment, consumers are less likely to skimp on the actual gaming hardware and more likely to go for something that they can really show off, even if it costs a bit more."

Yup, hypocrite, full of lies.

after reading this, you have to wonder what the site's relationship is with MS

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

Yeah right. I hope they are more on this one. They were well passed Pre Production and in production at E3. Hopefully they hit the 2014 like suggested.
