Forums - Nintendo - Wii Fit U question for those getting it! UPDATED

UPDATE: Nomveber 2, 2013.  You CANNOT take advantage of the Free trial if you don't sync the balance board. It wont let you sync the fit meter if you don't do that first.

I have a balance board but not with me, but I want to get the Wii Fit Meter in order to get the game for free, digitally.

Would someone getting it tell me if it works with the Fit Meter without synching the balance board, I mean the software is still for free? I won't be getting home until may 2014, so i can't sync the Balance Board with my Wii U if that is needed.

Wii Fit U trial releases tomorrow. I'll be cheking this forum constantly. Thank you gamers!

It specifically states all you need to do is download the software and buy a wiifit meter. However, you won't be able to do initial setup without a balance board.

Likely, the game is fully unlocked once you buy the wiifit meter and input some code.

How much money is the meter?

Edit: Oh, £20.00. I had absolutely no interest in this "game" but for that price I will get it.

As superchunk said to sync all you need is the wii u and the meter.

From the website:

"You can unlock the permanent version of the software just by pairing-up a Fit Meter , with your Wii U system. This removes the 31-day time limit, so you can continue playing the game for as long as you like, and there’s no need to re-download the software"

I don't think I care about the meter. I suppose the software download is going to cost $20?

I don't know but I doubt it. I think this is a promotion to push the meter as it is for a limited time. I won't be surprised if the game cost more.

The retail disc (game only) is listed in the UK at £49.99. I have no idea of the download price.

I think whether you want it or not getting the meter might well turn out to be the cheaper option.

Like others have stated... If its anything like the original, it asks you to sync the board before you start. You will still have time to get your board, the download is available til jan 31st.

I'm already using wii fit plus on the WiiU since the Wii on GamePad update. The upgrade will be welcome. Easier to use the touchscreen instead of the cursor keys on the wii remote.
Will download tomorrow.

Downloading this tomorrow. Already have the Fit Meter pre-ordered. What a steal for $20!

Well, wouldn't be the first useless peripheral I get with the software I actually want.
