They should discontinue the Vita, it is draining their gaming devision. Without it they would have made a profit in gaming division and that would have mean more games for PS3/PS4... Yeah the Vita is a mistake...

totally agree with this +10

Look at the vita tie ratio, add digital sales, and tell me again that is a mistake.

You really trying to argue that the Vita wasn't a mistake?

Hopefully it won't be long before the PS4 makes money. Sony doesn't have decent TV sales and PS1 & 2 profits to offset losses this gen like it did when the PS3 launched. Man, between this and Nintendo ... I don't know ...

Depends on your definition of mistake. If by mistake you mean finest portable console made to date, then yeah it was.

They're not losing money on it and it's establishing a very reliable game hungry userbase so from a business perspective it's fine.

Anyone thinking the Vita was a mistake most certainly isn't a gamer.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I'd say many folks thought that the Vita would take over the handheld market from Nintendo. In reality, not even Sony was expecting more than a third of the market, as has been the case before in the psp vs Nintendo case. Nobody at Sony is thinking about shutting down the Vita. If software keeps coming, more and more revenue can be generated by the slowly, but steadily growing Vita user base.

Companies like Samsung and Vizio are slowly destroying them so it's not surprising. Though I'm pretty sure that SCE is bring in real profits with their MMO games.

They don't have a Monster Hunter to save them this time around, yet. Though Vita TV is an interesting idea, but it's only if you are really into the Playstation eco system which I won't be in since I really really don't want to pay to play online, I'm staying with my PS3.

Let's hope the ps4 will help even a bit. With the ps4 remote play and Vita TV, I'm pretty sure it'll also help add sufficient boosts in Vita sales.

the best TV to play games is a sony TV it have a 10ms (lag) there is no other TV that can offer such a refresh rating (sony Flow motion), for gaming sony TV's are the best out there, samsung/LG TV's suck in that department.

I didnt know that, is it noticeable?

in games like mass efect or ninja gaiden it is very noticeable, in games like nwe super mario U or AC4 with a lot of colors and less darker images it is same but trust me sony TV's are better  it's just  people dont give a fuck about the technology inside. my wiiu is  connect to this sony TV XBR-HX950 it has a refresh rate of 240Hz but with the motionflow technology (this is exclusive  from sony) it can reach a refresh rate of 960Hz, and this my friend can be  like nigth and day  when playing next gen games  on your  wiiu, ps4 or xboxone.

I highly recommend you to not use motion flow when playing games. The post processing increases the latency and introduces input lag, just go into gaming mode.

I own a Sony blu-ray player and an a/v receiver but when it comes to TVs I have Samsung and LG. Sony still has the mentality that their stuff is superior and can charge way more for it. They have good products, they just can't compete with their price points. Their phones are a bit overpriced too.

Oh please, from a business perspective, Vita is a mistake/failure. I'm sure Sony wanted it to do much, much better than it is doing now. It fell way below expectations.

And using the 'anyone who thinks Vita is a mistake isn't a gamer' line is such bs. That's like saying anyone who thinks the Dreamcast/GC were mistakes isn't a gamer just because a subset of people liked the library of games.
