Not only annoyed! This could be a dealbreaker for me, as I use the PS3 heavily as a DLNA device. Crap! |
This plus the lack of USB hard drive support is giving me second thoughts. You really need one for any kind of setup involving a NAS device.

Do you have any digital music/video files? Without this or USB hard drive support, I don't see any way to use them on a PS4.

i did some video sharing on ps3 just to see if i could make it work but thought it was meh. i won't miss it. this is good in the way that A) supporting these sorts of things takes a lot of development time that can not be reallocated to far more useful things and B) a vast majority of users never used this so it is low impact.
sucks for those that used it though. sorry. :(
...the no mps3 thing some mentioned above some worst, imo. playing my music over a game is something i'm sure many more people would want to do. anyhoo, time to vist the "ultimate FAQ" thread.

Well i do. I used to download a lot of MKV files and convert them to DivX to watch on the PS3, but since i found a way to make Netflix work on my dutch PS3, i haven't looked back :)
A USB harddrive support should be there already, since you can use an external HD and all. If not, i'm sure it will be added later. The media server thing came to the PS3 a couple of months after launch.
Bit disappointing, but I never actually got the DLNA working properly anyway....
I just hope that they do actually get Netflix working
There are some minor things that annoy me, because it basically seems like they are going away from the more open PS3 style to a closed Vita style. You can basically drag and drop on PS3 to get whatever videos, music or whatever on there. On Vita, you have to go through Sony's systems, so I think this is actually going to be quite limiting
No issue
But that you cant play MP3 music on PS4 without a music unlimited sub is troublesome. I can't be the only one who listen to music on the background while playing a game right?
No mp3 support is the bigger deal to me. They want us to buy ANOTHER $60 subscription for their own music service instead. I didn't think I'd ever have to say after the initial Xbone reveal, but:
Xbox1 is back in the game for me. Right now Sony doesn't give me any reason to choose them over MS when I'll buy my Next-Gen console. Right now the PS4 may be cheaper, but who knows how it'll look like when I pick my console in 1-2yrs.
I would have been pissed off at this announcement had the media servers worked as intended.
They did not.
Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!
Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st ![]()
