Forums - Gaming - Electronic Arts: Ten Million PS4 and Xbox Ones Will Be Shipped By March

I don't think so honestly. Just don't think demand is there. 5 million maybe for X1 and 3 million for PS4. With the game delays and now charging for online, I think that will turn a lot of consumers away who once supported Sony. I know I am not getting one because of the pay to access online multi player and even if they took that away, the delays have taken away the games I wanted. Kinda wish Ryse, KI and Titanfall were on PS4 because I refuse to buy a MS console for personal reasons. At least I will get to play Titanfall on PC though.

I think the demand is there for both consoles.  I don't see demand being met for quite some time, and if they can both produce 5 million consoles by march, I think they can both sell 5 million consoles in the same time frame.  Sales with be determine by supply not demand well into next year.

i'm new to this whole console launch thing, but when you say 'demand not being met for some time' what do you mean?

They'll both be sold out everywhere, hence demand will not be met with the supply

lol, i guess it's that simple. When the initial shipment of each console sells out, how long do you think it will take for them to get back in stock?

You can't be serious!

Or are you trying to get something going?

Just giving my opinion. Sorry but I dont have any bias against or for any console. I can only speak on how I feel. Right now the line up for X1 is far more interesting to me than what is on PS4 and I think that will get many people to buy it over a PS4.

As I said I wished Titanfall, Ryse and KI were on PS4, then I would feel very different about who was going to have the most sales.

I gave valid reasons for my opinion. If you do not want to accept them, that is of course completely up to you.

Not sure, depends how well the companies are with their manufacturing sides

Even suggesting x1 could sell more then ps4 is fighting words around these parts. Pathetic but true:)

I was thinking it would be closer to 9m.
PS4 - 5 / XO - 4

that's how i think it will be as well. Unless Sony really dominates this X-mas, i dont see the ps4 pulling too far ahead, that being said, 10 million consoles being shipped in under 5 months is alot of consoles...

it means there are more people that want to buy the console than there are consoles available.  You know the whole supply vs demand.  Basically, until these console makers can make enough consoles to satisfy everybody that wants to buy the console right away, sales will be determined by supply because as soon as each shipment of consoles hits a store, it will sell out immediately.

Technically if MS can build more X1s for Titanfall then it will sell more than PS4. Then again with Halo 5 in November. They're both system sellers that will have limited editions

By end of March the PS4 would be released in Japan (Feb 2014) and major Asian markets (Dec 2013). So I doubt it will only sell 3M by that time.

I agree, the potential is there. I was making a comment about Somini's comment to ListerOfSmeg
