The site says: "broadband internet required for online features". Could this mean full-on online multiplayer? Online leaderboards?

Yeah, I took that to mean footage as well, but it seems they meant it as in revealing what the game was.

I do wish we'd gotten a trailer, but hopefully it's not far off.

You and me both. I'm dying to see gameplay, but I am still happy to know what it is, cos I loved the original FAST Racing League on Wii. At least I know I'll probably enjoy it.

Shin'en just confirmed that the game uses their new 2nd-generation Wii U engine.

I really need to play the first FAST game. Do you think it will make a reappearance on Wii U?
If not, I'll just download on Wii.

I don't like 1st person racers, but Gamepad gyro controls would be awesome.  It's an extremely accurate motion controller, and has the "feel" of a steering wheel.

The original FAST Racing League on Wii had gyro controls, so I would not be surprised if this one does too.

Shin'en did re-release some of their Wii games like  Art of Balance and Fun Fun Minigolf on 3DS, so I guess a HD port of FAST 1 woudn't be impossible, but if it was me I'd just download it on the Wii just in case. Don't know how much longer Wiiware will be live...

Good call. Any other Wiiware titles you'd recommend while I'm at it?
