I usually don't share rumors without real good sources behind them, but this one seemed plausible and worth considering. Plus, I've followed this YouTube channel for a while, and he seems reliable enough, and this is the first time he's backed up a rumor like this.
Basically, according to "reliable anonymous sources"
- Watch Dogs, The Crew, and Drive Club was delayed due to both consoles' online modes being in shambles
- The trade-up program for the PS4 requires keeping the older copy of the game
- Dead Rising 3 is being gimped because of the shoddy online network that will be prepared for launch
- Call of Duty Ghosts multiplayer will be 720p on BOTH consoles, due to online troubles
- The reason the PS4 is having online troubles is because its online infrastructure was originally built around extensive DRM, just like the Xbox One, and like Microsoft, Sony's been spending the time since the One's announcement completely redoing their online infrastructure
Unfortunately, this would makes sense IMO. It would explain some of the delays, makes sense from a business-standpoint, and it could explain the difficulty reviewers have had getting access to these systems and games.
And before anybody writes me off as a Nintendo fanboy, the Wii U launch with its 1 GB day-one patch was a mess, as were the launch window delays.
