There.
Nintendo Land is Nintendo's Classic Arcade game style

hmmm...what's wrong it's a legitimate debate about how Nintendo's marketing blunders things all the time.  This is one of them as giving one software and taking another does not add up to extra value IMHO.  In the case of Wii Party U replacing Nintedo Land as a way to show the systems capablities; that is still up to debate.  For now the best software that Nintendo has to showcase how to differentiate the Wii U from the two more powerful next-gen console IS NintendoLand!!!

Well first of all, I've seen some stupid coments in here. Mainly at the bottom, second of all Nintendo's not marketing anything on the telly in America, but what you consider a marketing blunder is them taking a seperate approach.

A few of the things in Nintendo Land are a bit gimmicky. Mainly the Octopus and the Fzero thing.

The only thing Nintendo really did is showcase how it can affect core gameplay on a deeper level with the likes of Metroid blast, 3 of the multiplayer tracks were quite samey. Only thing  I really like in it is Pikmin and Takamaru

I think everybody's comments here so far has been a fair assesment of how they view this topic.  I find nothing stupid about it.  It's either you think NL is a worthwhile software as a freebie (Looking at Metacritic and Gamerankings shows that it is) or you think it's crap despite not trying it or tried it and found it shallow.  It's all up to opinion.  Anyways as I said I like the stages I thought were good are: Zelda, Mario Chase, Luigi's Mansion, AC, and I thought Pikmin was ok.  I think those games showed some promise of what developers could do with the system.

This one is an absolute train wreck :3

I think its more of an admission that the Wii U gamepad and the casual market that made the Wii popular are both on the decline/already dead. Lets recap.

Ditching NintendoLand in favor of Mario and Luigi
Game and Wario, game that showcases the gamepad well... flop
Wii U Party, abysmal reviews, almost no advertising from Nintendo, delayed the 3DS version to not outshine it
Wii Fit U, comes out next week, no advertising
Just Dance 2014 (pretty much all ubisoft casual games ...JDK, Rabbids Land, ESPN Sports Connection, Your Shape etc, ), all former shadows of themselves

To me, Nintendo Land barely scratched the surface of what this little machine could do. It sent my immagination running amok. Its time for us to get creative with it

Marketing? Nintendo is selling 30000 plus in the U.S. right now without even advertising! Wait for the holiday blitzkrieg they are about to unleash a couple of weeks before SM3DW releases. Then we can talk marketing.

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

Shigeru Miyamoto

So evidently this bundle is coming - Skylanders + Nintendoland - . That's a great family bundle at the holidays. Great choice as this hits the kid segment while the NSMBU/NSLU bundle and Wind Waker bundle hits a broader "gamer' segment. My kids love Nintendoland and play it whenever we have friends over. It may not be a hit with a lot of the crowd here, but for the 6-10 year old segment it's amazing. I can barely get them to try other games like NSMBU multi-player. They just play NL over and over and over...

The 8GB white model for the Skylanders bundle? Ewww. Looks like they're just trying to clear out unsold 8GB inventory.
