The journalists who have a debug PS4 are probably able to review it just fine.  I think they're talking about the people who do Let's Plays and Reviews on Youtube. 

There's nothing stopping these people from doing PS3 reviews through HDMI with certain capture cards just as they do know, pass through devices as long as your TV has low input lag, or play the games and do the reviews in 720p with component cables until the update to allow recording through HDMI.


Except that they dont have any ps4 exclusive game and no way of recording the video plus they now have to fly somewhere just to play those games in a staged enviroment 


ya see now that makes sense, i think im finally understanding what this second thing is about..   in the end for the user really doesnt mean much unless they follow those reviews.  but i could see how those that make a living on this would be upset

Just to add it is funny that Leadbetter tried to talk about balance just after all the mess... and using another nickname in Eurogamer lol.

Also a guy was acting like XBONE dev kits cost $500 since that's the price of a retial unit. Also he was acting like PS4 dev kits cost $2,500.


youd be surprised by the real costs, put it this way devs will have alot more PS4 kits than XOne kits.

Getting a capture card that records hdmi thank to hdcp.  However it is pretty easy to strip hdcp, I bought this from amazon and I capture 1080p from the ps3 perfectly.  ViewHD 2 Port 1x2 Powered HDMI Mini Splitter for 1080P & 3D

But that's illegal.

I mean you can do whatever you want, but a journalist could potentially get in trouble for that.
