Humiliating myself by demanding that someone back up their claim? Uh do you not understand logic either?

Seece is wrong in one aspect. It's not common sense, it's common knowledge. Yes, you are humiliating yourself by demanding someone to back up obvious statements, so you may quit that "understand logic" bs. Were you born yesterday? Or do you live under a rock? A short update - the world is round, 2+2=4, soda is bad for you. If you're in doubt - google it, you'll find more info on it than you can digest.

@Zappykins - nice find

What's hilarious is your lack of ability to form an argument.

It's your claim and Seece's. Either back up your claim, or admit you can't. You don't get to say "it's common sense/knowledge" when it isn't.

Of course you hear this on the media, but what I'm attempting to get you and Seece to realize (although you seem quite deliberately obtuse to it) is to look into the actual scientific studies themselves.

There is a shit ton of misinformation, quote mining, conflation, and untested analysis being thrown around by the media  because they couldn't care less about giving the facts, they care about RATINGS.

So unless you've spent some time investigating the actual studies, which to my knowledge very few if any show a detrimental effect to humans because the majority of the studies don't pertain to humans, then you aren't in a position to comment. They are simply guessing based upon how mice and other animals respond to certain substances contained within soda.

Another point of contention is that not all sodas possess the same chemicals, so generalizing them in such fashion speaks volumes to your ignorance on the topic.

It's not lack of ability, it's lack of will. I don't want to waste time and energy proving obvious things that ARE common knowledge. You can and should just google it. And yes, I've read quite alot about this and other stuff we eat and drink, since I take care of what I eat and drink and how it influences my body.

You may feel free to believe otherwise, just don't be surprised people are looking at you with pity or that your @ss is gonna grow at a terrifying pace. Though on the other hand - I guess in America that's rather normal. You pay the price being much less healthy than Europeans I guess.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

My game fuel is ice water, stopped drinking this stuff years ago because it messes up your teeth. Also I thought it was common knowledge that soda contains tons of added sugar and preservatives, which can lead to many long term and serious health risks, ie) diabetes, or was all this a joke that went over my head?

Sugar is necessary for survival. I think you would benefit greatly from a dietetics class.

I believe you need a dietetics class the most here. There is sugar and there is sugar. The sugar you get in soda is the one you don't need and surely not in those quantities.

Didn't see any evidence posted, just a bunch of excuses.

If you've read about it, you'd be able to cite a study in less time than it took you to write all of those excuses.

I don't think I stated my beliefs on this topic. You and Seece love to make assumptions. I never said I drank soda either. I'm simply a person who doesn't blindly accept things on the news without investigating them. Try it some time, instead of being a typical sheep.

Comparing a country to a continent? You really would benefit from a logic course.

Making American gamers even fatter! Way to go, MS! If they are so fat they can't even move from the couch, they'll be playing even more! Genius!

Oop . Mexico passed us as fatest country. LOL so you better chill. I'm not fat and I think it can be linked to GMO's more then this crap.

I can't believe there is an argument about whether soda is good for you? Just look at the nutrition facts on the back! This is the equivalent of asking if smoking cigarettes causes cancer. It's just common sense.

The absurdity of your argument is profound.

Which ingredient is inherently bad that you claim is "common sense?"

Neither am I and I have done my research - a long time ago, so I can't cite a particular study just like that, but the way human body works hasn't changed. In fact I can point to my mother as a source - she's a university's professor of food chemistry. She's the most credible source I can get, as I'm sure she wouldn't lie to me because she wanted better ratings or some company paid her. Happy?

If you are defending a point of view that you know is wrong then stop acting like a typical ass, who's pretending to be the smartest one around, schooling other people, while in fact just humiliating himself. Try it some time.

Europe is being compared to US on a constant basis. I'm starting to have serious doubts whether you even know what the word "logic" means.

A peson should have "30 grams of sugar per day max, which is equivalent to only 120 calories per day or about one quarter of average current consumption. " A 12oz can of Coke has 39 grams of artificial sugar. In just one can of 12oz soda you already have well over what your suppose to have in a single day. Fruits, vegtables, and other foods with natural sugars are how we are suppose to get our sugar, not soda and other processed drinks and foods.

"Mommy said so!" - hilarious stuff.

I'm not defending any point of view. I'm simply demanding evidence for a claim someone made. I don't think that's too much to ask. Especially when this particular topic is very muddy. As a skeptic, I demand evidence. I guess you're a faith person. Illogical, but explains quite a bit about your responses.

I'm not pretending anything, I often am the smartest one around. But I don't appeal to myself as an authority on topics I'm not like you seem to do...

That was one of the poorest attempts at defending an invalid analogy I've ever read in my entire life. I think you've become very unsettled at this point and should get some rest.

Oh my god, someone who can actually follow the rules of logic. Finally, thank you.

Your source does not say that soda is bad though. It simply says a regular can of coke exceeds the recommendation for sugar. And it doesn't address the diet variant.
