Forums - Sales - The underperforming-exclusive 'race' to 100k is over

Here ya go,

Just out of sight, and back in the top 40, is accomplished Vita exclusive Killzone: Mercenary in 13th.

I was wondering if KZ:M could possibly pick up once people are done with GTA5. Let's face it, almost all potential KZ customers got that game and now when they're finished, they can finally get this game. I hope it's gonna be the case and KZ has strong legs till at least January. It sure as hell deserves to join the top 5 games on Vita in terms of sales.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Well, as much as people are all "Killzone Shadow Fall will crush Mercenary". With it being part of a PS4 line up schedule, Shadow Fall could actually introduce quite a few new people to KillZone, who once they've done with that, will look at the other games in the series.

Vita is being marketed as PS4's "perfect partner". So if people then see that there is a new KillZone to play on Vita, it might actually be more appealing post PS4 launch than it is currently.

It's actually one of the better FPS games I've played in recent years which really surprised me. Let alone being the best FPS on any portable device by several leagues.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Don't forget that Vita games sell a majority digitally. Hopefully Killzone Mercenary has good legs as it's a great game.

Is that's the case, it's better for VGChartz to find a way to track digital sales or the site will become irrelevant. Payday 2 is an example: good digital sales, bad retail. If you look at VGChartz, that game looks like a flop when it actually wasn't that bad. For PC sales, VGChartz already doesn't matter anymore.

This is very interesting and it is also what I'm thinking at the moment.

Shouldn't we make a thread for this topic?

I'm starting one now, let's see whatr everyone thinks about it.

Based on my estimates, Killzone: Mercenary sold 70k digitally and Puppeteer sold 11k digitally. Who knows what the budget were for those games though but I think both will be profitable in the medium to long run respectively.

Puppeteer is $20 in NA right now, if you like platformers pls try it. Haven't seen presentation as charming as Puppeteer's in a game before.

Yeah Puppeteer is incredible. It's safe gameplay-wise but the whole esthetic/presentation rivals the very best platformers out there.
