If i buy a DLC for a third-party retail game, does that go in the area with third-party games or in the area which includes Xbox-Live purchases?

Wow awesome results!
Huge profits once again and lots of great new things are being launched.

I wish they'd report sales of the new Surface tablet. One of my friends bought one and it looks very nice and also very useful and much much better than an Ipad.
The Windows 8.1 update was good too. I actually didn't like Windows 8 in the beginning but I like it much better now and more than Windows 7. It just takes time to get used to. The next thing I need is a Windows phone and all my daily technology products will use MS software.

I have the first Surface pro for my work computer and it works great.  I just got my son a 256GB Surface Pro for school a couple of days ago.  I compared them and the new one is a bit faster.  The new pro plays Skyrim quite well too.  Hands down, there really isn't a comparison between the Surface or an Ipad/Kindle.  I have all 3 and their is no way you can even put them in the same category besides the form factor.  The Surface Pro is way beyond the other tablets out there.

Now that's how to run a business. Getton Microsoft. Thatll teach naysayers.

No it won't.

@mistershine.

its pretty hard when a company post profits like that to say they aren't doing it right or not keeping customers happy in general.

they obviously know what they are doing.

I know that, but like some one at the register said:

MS could find a cure for cancer and most of you on here would find something to slate them for!

"....yeah they may have found a cure for cancer, but what about man flu?? Eh? MS are rubbish!"

Yeah right. It obviously shows the internet concesses isnt what the real world thinks of Microsoft. Clearly. The haters must just migrate to the net. LOL.

Or more interestingly why they merged departments into others leading to hiding the true figures of certain divisions

Windows devision and entertainment & devices figures looking more believable now

"...the best way to prepare [to be a programmer] is to write programs, and to study great programs that other people have written. In my case, I went to the garbage cans at the Computer Science Center and fished out listings of their operating system." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

"Hey, Steve, just because you broke into Xerox's house before I did and took the TV doesn't mean I can't go in later and take the stereo." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.

""Windows [n.] - A thirty-two bit extension and GUI shell to a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded for a four bit microprocessor and sold by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition.""

Revenue of $23 to $25bn next quarter expected.

This FY will be a record year it seems..... again.

Maybe in time people will understand that profit is more important than market share. I know it´s a guessing game, but how much profit do you think MS might make in the devices department next quarter? They obviously built the X1 in order to make a profit from the get-go.

Looking good. I will be getting a surface for my mom for Christmas. Also for my wife
