I hope its false news. It will be bad news for PS4 owners. Lets hope for the best.

 

 

*Rumour* PS4 launch title Driveclub delayed until 2014

Although we at TSC don’t usually do news pieces, after yesterdays announcement about Watch Dog’s & The Crew slipping into 2014, this rumour was too much not to post.

*Treat this as 100% rumour for now, hopefully it will turn out to be false*

We’ve had word from an anonymous source that Sony’s upcoming PS4 launch title Driveclub is delayed until spring 2014. While no reason for the delay was given it has been reported previously that the game had looked a little unfinished when shown at various events this year.

With a little under a month before the PS4′s US release this isn’t the best of news, especially in the light of Ubisoft’s news that the highly anticipated launch title watch Dog’s won’t be hitting until sometime next year. It’s also a hit to the platforms hugely popular PS+ service as an albeit stripped down version of Driveclub was due to be available for PS+ subscribers free at launch.

It could also be another blow to retailers who are already having to scramble to adjust preorder bundles of the PS4 in light of yesterdays news.

As stated this is just a rumour at present,expect this piece to self destruct if it turns out to be rubbish but we’ll be sure to update as we learn more. I have reached out to both Evolution Studios and Sony for comment but as yet neither has chosen to reply

Delaying a game can be good to polish a game.
But... delaying a launch title like driveclub would just be one of the most retarded moves ever.

It's possible considering they said it was only 35% done at E3 (or whenever it was)...

But also a website I've never heard of looking for clicks.... also might be total lies :)

Why? Xbox has the most (new non ported) exclusives and only Kinect Sports was Delayed, that was months back as well.

And yeah, unless it's really broken, stupid move to delay it. People don't mind if launch titles aren't all that.

To boot PS4's line up is thin on the ground as it is, this is all they need. Indies are great but you don't advertise them and they don't bring in the mases. All they'll have to advertise is Killzone and Knack??

Release it as it is now. Still looks stunning. And update as it gets better. Some other games are missing whole story lines just to meet launch.

Kinda hope this happens. I feel it needs more time being fine-tuned, from what I've seen of it.

That said, I don't see this happening. Isn't DriveClub part of the PS+ package for launch?

no clue if true but we never saw gameplay which wasn't only for the fastest lap with only one car on screen so maybe it still has problems with let's say 16 cars on screen?

or maybe they can release it with 60fps with a later release? i would be for it then!

if it is true microsoft should also delay ryse and work even more on the new gameplay. the few month since they changed it little bit are probably also not enough.

since both consoles will probably still sell out in 2013 it wouldn't really hurt the console sales.
