Forums - Gaming - tired of the Live vs. PS+ debate!!

It's true that they are different. But PS+ is more than a rental service. You get 1Gb of cloud saving so you can access saved data on other PS3s, You get access to some pretty steep sales on PSN, and you get the full game trials that will let you play from where you left off if you decide to buy the game.

The other big difference is what you get for free on PS that you have to pay for with Live. If you have a 360 Live is pretty much a must. If you have a PS3 than PS+ is an add on that if you play a lot of games can pretty quickly pay for itself.

In some ways I agree. One is a rental service. Its like saying Netflix gives me free movies while I pay them 8,00 a month. Its kinda sad really. From the looks of it, its the same as playing online with PS3 but you are being charged for it this time. Seems silly that people try to justify getting access to old games as making it worth being forced to pay for online access. Thing is without the online access part, much like Live, nobody with money would pay for it.

One offers better servers, the other offers better value for money. That's how i see it ^^

While you are regarding PS+ as just a rental service, when people compare it to Live they are comparing Live as a whole to PS+ along with PSN (which is free), since with the inclusion of PS+ PSN costs about the same as Live.

PS4 vs Xbone will be a much better comparison for this. Right now things will probably turn out the same (PS+ better value for money, Live better servers), but we will have to wait and see.

I'll go with the better servers, and in that, there's better value for my money.

Just out of curiousity what are all the better services that justify the better value for your money?  Party chat comes to mind.

I didn't even see the 'Xbone' moniker... which I would love to argue with as it's certainly a diss... but really can't.
How they didn't see that coming is beyond me.
Fools.

I don't use "Xbone" as a diss, it's just the easiest name to type fast (only involves one tape of the shift key, XBO involves holding it down and Xbox One is just long).

I have no reason to diss the Xbone, i think it looks like a very capable machine, just like the 360 did. If it wasn't for the Kinect i'd probably get one ^^ (may still do some day if the price comes down. Haven't decided on the PS4 yet, other than Killzone not much of it's launch line up appeals to me).

Lister, what you said make no sense to me..
I have money.. and I pay for it.
(just to clarify, I don't pay to have the money, that'd be silly, I pay for xbox live... which is what you were referring to... right???)

You pay to have money? What? Sorry that makes no sense at all especially compared to what I am saying. Can you say it in a way that makes sense?

I have money too but that doesnt mean i want to pay for something that is the exact same method as last gen and still free on other services. Having money doesnt justify paying for what is free and has nothing to do with what I said. If you would like to try to rethink what you are saying and apply your response to what is actually being said by me, then feel free, otherwise I will ignore any stupid comments so I dont get banned. I'm talking apples, you're talking... I dont even know what you are saying. Something about you have money so its ok to be ripped off. I dont know

I get access to Steam sales and it doesnt cost me anything to do so. I get free demos too. You really are making it look worse than I thought it was. They are charging you for things that are free on other platforms but since its better than no access at all it justifies the price?

Thinking about it now, I think the paywall for the apps is the worst part of Live for me. I couldn't tell you the last time I played online...But I use Netflix and Youtube on my PS3 all the time. So if I had an Xbox I'd have to choose between not using those features or paying just to use the apps...that would be infuriating. Especially since you at least get stuff with PS+ so that it still might be worth getting.

It is a diss. Dont play games. X1 is much easier. You are just trying to justify your dissing them. I hate MS so its not like I am defending them. Its just easy to admit the truth when you dont try to hide your hate.
