Forums - Sales - Will Gran Turismo 5 outsell Halo 3 (lifetime sales)?

Which game will sell more lifetime globally?

Gran Turismo 5 145 63.04%

Halo 3 85 36.96%

Total:230

Maaaybe. It's a bit hard to tell. If it wasn't for GT6, I'd say definitely. With GT6, it's going to be a lot closer.

It probably won't pass halo 3 since this generation is pretty much over for the most part.

This gen is far from over. Gamers don't stop playing on their old consoles the moment a new one comes out. Even if you count each sold new console as a loss for the old consoles, it'll take time before this generation is actually over. And that's a pretty drastic approximation, I'm sure, as in beginnig of a new gen the new consoles won't have many games worth playing, but the old ones will, and lots of gamers who buy new consoles will still continue playing on the old ones as well.

I said the amount of different bundles. This just proves my point :) We don't know how many times they were sold. But holidays is just for US so massive, not Europe.

Look at the list... Forza have the same amount or more bundles... Halo too... Uncharted too.

GT5 bundles aren't the best sellers.

Probably true but exactly how many more bundles did Gran Turismo 5 get compared to Halo 3? and could you seperate them by region?

You're making that request because you know I can't find that exact information. Neither could VGChartz. All we know for certain is GT has bundled in Europe and NA many times over and even recently.

Here's something note worthy. GT5 saw a massive boost on the holidays of 2012, it was even bigger than the 2011 holiday. That is the same time a GT5 bundle launched. That gives you an idea how much bundles helped this game and kept YoY numbers so high.

No, i asked because you said it like you knew the exact amount of bundles. 2012 yoy increase? Isnt that the same year the XL edition was released and the price was lowered? The yoy increase is irrelevant to how many more times it was bundled over Halo 3.

And if you cant find that exact information then how do we know that you actually know what you're talking about, Puggsly?

Which? Seriously, this wasn't meant offensive. I don't know another game for PS360.

Uncharted, Forza and Halo for example was more bundled than GT5... I can show more examples.

MS is massive with bundle for Holidays and most 360 sales come from that period.

For a single game no, none of those were bundled more. Not that it actually matters that much though since they were all bundled in the million+ range

For franchises though yeah all of those were bundled more than GT was.

For single game too... Uncharted 3 was more bundled than GT5... Forza 3 and Forza 4 too... just Halo 3 and Halo 4 I think was less than GT5.

Was Uncharted 3 really above GT5? Forza 3 though has like 2.5 million in bundles so you're probably right about that one now that I think about it. Forza 4 though, I really doubt. It's sitting at 1.25 million at the most right now for bundles.

No it won't

However it is amazing that a title such as GT5, a racing game, can compete with a major FPS when FPS's are "the" genre this gen

Honestly impressive

Alright, lets play dumb. Because when games get bundled with DLC it often leads to massive sales increases like that.

Bundle after bundle had nothing to do with it.

I'm done talking to you, good day.

What difference does it make exactly

It really doesn't, just a discussion and making some points. Although, it can be annoying when people play dumb or make presumptions about what I am saying.
