Hit detection for example, it's just a few clicks away, while in reality, some developer spent hours perfecting it.

Have you seen developers' videos? I'm afraid is way more difficult than that xD

Relatively speaking of course, it's far more impressive to programme hit detection from a bit of syntax on a page than producing it from an elaborate game engine.

Yeah, no doubt. But then you have a big company such as Bethesda, which don't spent any second in perfecting such a minuisance. Thus weirdness all over the place when playing xD

Project Spark looks great. It's one of 2 reasons I"m leaning more torwards an X1 instead of a PS4(Xbox Fitness being reason number 2) As far as hype I would look at this like LBP. It will be fun and engrossing but maybe not as HUGE as people think. Yes there will be some amazing creations but you're probably gonna have to sift through a ton of crap to get there.

It looks amazing. I know I'm going to tinker around with it, I've been screwing around with developing tools for ages.

Having said that, Selnor: you are delusional. I hope you are on drugs. I want to be on drugs. I want to be on drugs while screwing around with Project Spark.

Project Spark will NOT be bigger than Minecraft. Most people don't enjoy creating their own games. Most people creating their own games are not nearly as able or talented as "real" developers. Project Spark is also very limited compared to making your own developing tools. It's not indie development when you have to pay royalties to Microsoft or whoever owns Project Spark to sell your Spark-powered games.

The game fills a niche. It is awesome. But Game Maker isn't bigger than Minecraft or all indie titles combined. So why would Project Spark be?

You dont sell them. You can play the creations free. What are you talking about?

It was you who dramatically stated that Spark makes indie developers useless...

I wonder if you could create a game in Project Spark and use it as a 'pitch' to create a bigger game...

Be sure about talented people being contacted by big companies if they make amazing things.

Hmm, could do, but how many people have been contacted by big companies based on LBP2 Projects, some were amazing. But it's the ideas that matter. No matter how good of a game it is on Project Spark, it's still tied to Project Spark, no realy programming as been done. Hit detection for example, it's just a few clicks away, while in reality, some developer spent hours perfecting it.

Of course I'm more thinking of a concept piece 'This is how I expect it to play, here is the story.' etc. That is entirely within your creative ability.

That is amazing. Really pleasant surprise!

Makes you wonder, how the devs make money out of this? Other than extra DLC at a price, the game is totally free.

They are MS books, they probably don't have to worry. No, having to worry about making profits. Kinda like Home, did Home make Sony money? But for the Devs who made it, it's a job in the industry and good experience.

I'm not sure about LBP2 but i remember like 5 or 6 people got discovered and recruited by the 1st Little Big Planet. They talked about it in either an official PlayStation video or an IGN video. I left a comment on the same video that said something like " You hear that, guys? Over 6 people have been discovered through Little Big Planet. I wonder who will be the next individual to be discovered (((Me!)))" or something like that. I was joking but i got like 40 thumb ups from that comment

Yes, it does look pretty good - I've watched some of their dev videos, and it's quite interesting stuff.

No, it doesn't look better than any indy game ever...well, truth to be told, you did say that you've seen, so I'm guessing you haven't actually seen that much indie games...or perhaps you're just waving flag of your "team" bit too hard.
