Forums - Nintendo - NSMBU vs 3D World

I can actually see 3DW having an outside shot at selling more. It looks like a much more impressive game, while still being accessible. 3D could really hit a much bigger audience than the Galaxy games. At the same time, people seem a little tired of the NSMB series and its uninspired take on 2D Mario. So 3D could end up being a bigger hit.

Most likely though, 2D will be bundled more, and if Wii U sells a lot casual gamers and kids will almost always pick up 2D Mario. But this 3D version could steel that audience.

Really it depends on if they played the handheld games. Only 2 NSMBs for consoles/

NSMBU will leg it out, but 3D world will be hot on its heals, so much innovation on that latest trailer alone. Also a shame NSMB has been over done in recent times, i feel NSMBU gets a rough time because of it, despite it being the best game in the series.

NSMBU with the DLC NSLU is the greatest in the series.  The only game that I found that overdid the series was NSMB2.  Level design and music just seemed rehashed.

I'll agree with that.  I'll go as far to say that NSMBU is the second best 2D Mario game after Mario Bros 3.

For me, it is second best to Mario World :P

I actually didn't like World as much as the other games.  I think Yoshi and capes made things a bit too easy at points, and I prefered the shorter levels of SMB3.  Not that I didn't like Mario World, just not as much as other games.

For me, it's...

SMB3>NSMBU>NSMBWii>World>NSMBDS>SMB>SMB2>Land 2>NSMB2>Land>>>Lost Levels

If Nintendo was inclined to market 3D World aggressively, then I think it could outsell NSMBU...
Given Nintendo's recent attempts at marketing, that won't happen...

Have a nice day...

Whichever one is bundled
