That miller ott trade pissed me off.

Hossa out for weeks with upper body (still has 7 years on contract). He was a beast when we got him... 5? years ago but now hes just injury prone and needs to retire. Save the Hawks money so they can get another name (only reason he is doing as well has he has this year is because the lines he is on).

Kings, Blues, Wild all getting better. Ducks already strong. Not sure its a great idea for the Hawks to stand pat. Feels like they are falling into the LA trap of thinking the team is good enough. Oh well, you already have 2 cups so no real worries...

Very scary moment in the stars-jackets game. Right fully postponed. Peverly is apparently doing okay and at the hospital. but man..

heart attack maybe? local radio mentioned soemthing about needing the defib's

Yeah they sayt it was a heart-attack. Rich Peverley was diagnosed with a heart problem in camp before the season even started and was also scratched last week due to heart problems. I don't think hes ever going to play another game in the NHL again, the doctors may not let him.

One thing I'm curious about is how the re-scheduling works because the Jackets were up 1-0. Does that score remain or do they just restart?

Ya sounds like a heart attack. .. and thats a very good question i dont know how that would work.  i cant remember something like that happening before

http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/dallas-stars/headlines/20140310-stars-doctors-explain-what-happened-to-rich-peverley-after-collapse-on-dallas-bench-give-update-on-condition.ece

"He was brought back to the hallway for treatment, where we treated him for a cardiac event, successfully treated with standard therapy," said Dr. Gil Salazar of UT Southwestern, one of the doctors who treated Peverley. "As soon as we treated him, he regained consciousness. He was alert and awake talking to us after the event and quickly transported to the hospital. At this point, I was able to talk to him in the back of the ambulance and he was able to tell me where he was and he actually wanted to get back in the game."

Salazar said of the treatment "We provided oxygen for him. We started an IV. We did chest compressions on him and defibrillated him, provided some electricity to bring a rhythm back to his heart, and that was successful with one attempt, which is very reassuring," Salazar said.

lol, Lack, a goaltender with less than 30 games played in his NHL carreer, lets trade Luongo...just to see what happens.

Seriously never thought such childish antics would ever take place in a professional and hugely demanding workplace. You'd have to be the worst GM in history to take a team from outright dominant to embarrassingly pathetic in such a short time. The Canucks in 2011 had the third most dominant season by any team (Montreal holding the first two spots) that this league has ever seen, now they are the laughing stalk of the NHL. People who used to hate the Canucks just feel bad for them now. I feel bad for their fans (true fans, not the bandwagon jumpers) who feel the need to watch their games and support them because thye play like shit.

Gillis obviously already knew they weren't going to make the playoffs but what if Canucks did? Is Lack playoff material? NO! So then why did he trade Schneider in the first place???? So many unthought-out decisions that only a kid would who didn't know what he was doing would do. Get rid of Torts as well Canucks, he's the opposite of what you need.

Goaltending wise, on paper, yeah. Steve Ott is a joke though, adds no serious threat to the team. Blues gave up Stewart who is a much better player than Ott.

I hope the sabers badness follow those two and curse the blues

But to be more specific about what pissed me of is: I would straight trade crawford for miller any day of the week and Stan Bowman made no real moves except for a Dman that we dont really need. They got rid of Pirri (though Q didnt like him much), Hossa is injury prone, Bickle isnt performing for that contract he got, Handzous should have retired, Rantaa isn't dependable backup for a so-so starter.

You would have had to give up a lot more than just Crawford to get Miller.  The Sabers are in rebuilding mode and wanted prospects and picks.

As for Stewart, I think it is addition by subtraction for the Blues.  He lead the team in penalty minutes by far.

Yeah, Crawford for Miller straight up is a pipe dream and would never ever happen. Why would the Sabres accept a downgrade in goal straight up when they could get so much more. Chicago would have to add Ryan Hartman and a first round pick in 2015 to match the offer from St Louis. No shit Chicago would jump on a Crawford for Miller straight up deal, they would be idiots not to. No reason to be pissed that you weren't able to unload a medicore goaltender for the best goaltender in the league straight up.

Very poor analysis. Blues made a huge upgarde in net and added a balls out player with some scoring touch in Ott. He will be a perfect player for them in the play offs. Giving up Stewart for the Blues does not hurt, the real price the Blues paid are Carrier and the two picks. In other words selling off parts of the future to improve now. Has worked out ok so far. Playoffs will tell the real story.
