well the vancouver sports scene has exploded.. im still sort of in a daze trying to figure out if this is good or bad.. I really like that we have Matthias coming back

They should have traded Torts, haven't seen Canucks play consistently bad like this since before AV. Torts is an absolute joke of a coach. Canucks NEED to fire Mike Gillis, he's made the dumbest trades so far this season and last.

Surprised me for sure, I thought Luo was in till the end after they got rid of schnieder. Was surprised they didn't play Luo for the Heritage Classic too, especially since his chances of playing an outdoor game as a Panther are even smaller now. 

Wild picked up Bryzgalov today from the oilers. Needed something with both Backstrom and Harding out for the season, apparently it was between him, Broduer, and Halak (I would have prefered Halak). 

Rumors Kesler wants a trade too? Vancouver has been slipping in the standings hard. 8th place is up for grabs between Vancouver, Dallas, Phoenix, Winnipeg and I guess maybe Nashville?

I honestly feel bad for Loungo having to go to a team that is in such poor shape as Florida. I cannot imagine they will have such a dramatic restructuring of the front office to turn things around like Colorado.

On another note, I am not liking this almost permanent knowing of a very probable first round matchup with Chicago. It has taken a lo of mystery out of who a team will face when the number 2 seed always faces the number 3.

That miller ott trade pissed me off.

Hossa out for weeks with upper body (still has 7 years on contract). He was a beast when we got him... 5? years ago but now hes just injury prone and needs to retire. Save the Hawks money so they can get another name (only reason he is doing as well has he has this year is because the lines he is on).

I'm bummed the B's couldn't get more done, they've needed to get some serious help on D since Seidenberg went down, need to cut some of the playing time on their remaining veteran defenders.

I like Thomas. Wish him the best of luck. I like Dallas too (thanks to Belfour). was watching them in '97 (i think) playoffs with Hull, Belfour and Modano
