This is the reason why I am buying both systems. The Xbox One will merge into my Home Theater Setup. The IR Blaster is a cool and useful feature for me because I have a Pre/Pro, TV, Blu-Ray, HTPC, Roku box all in one room and to have Logitech harmony features with the added bonus of voice commands is HUGE for me.

Fantasy football integration will also be great as I am in on average 4 leagues a year, so it will be nice to have it updated in real time.

I am getting both the PS4 and Xbox One for their exclusives, but for me the Xbox One offers a lot more besides gamming that makes it a solid purchae.

It's important because it means you can have Skype running, any source of music running, a browser running, and the video capture running at the same time that you're playing a game.

Why would I want all those running at once?

Skype - To chat with friends while I'm playing a game.
A music program - To listen to tunes while I'm playing a game.
A web browser - To cheat.
Video capturing - To record my game

Vita does 3 of those at once too, im pretty sure ps4 will do those 4 examples at once as well, i don tthink thats a great example for this xbox one feature tho, id expect to be able to listen to my own music and chat in a game without taking up any of the app slots, and im sure it probably can.

So it has the multitasking capabilities of the PS Vita which uses far less RAM for the same thing... Is this supposed to be good?

I didn't notice a proclamation that the PS4 didn't do this.  Even though it hasn't been demostrated that it can snap skype or youtube onto the same screen as your using it to do so.  No need to start another argument about the PS4 in a thread about the XB1 though.

not trying to start an argument im just saying voice chat and your own music will most likely just work reguardless you wont have to open them as background apps, this is basic 360 functionality. 

and i think you can certainly add game DVR to that list for both next gen consoles.

Having a snapped web browser will be Xone only i would bet, other systems you will have to alt tab equivalent

wait,. xbone will only support 1,000 friends?! that's a far cry from the "virtually unlimited" statement they previously made. hell, ps4 supports 2,000 and sony is supposed to be the n00bs of the online space.


anyhoo, multi-tasking is good stuff. i'm not sure why i'll need 4 apps at a time but i most definitely want to be able to be able to switch between a game and an internet trophy guide or the dark souls 2 wiki. that kind of shit i've been going to my laptop for ages with and it will be great to finally not have to do that.
