Forums - Sony Discussion - Eurogamer: Inside Polyphony's House of Cars (New Interviews ; Confirmed to BGS - I Want Big News)

Tagged games:

Hello fellas.

I'm back again... this time from a ban that each user can have your own opinion about it * yeah things are crazy here *

But I have news of course... Gran Turismo 6 news.

A big part of the European press was invited to take a tour in Polyphony Digital (the studio was always closed for external visits... so I think that is the first time the press get into the cave). And after the tour PD revelead some news (big or small? I don't know yet) over NDA to ends tomorrow.

Why tomorrow (Monday)? Because Kaz said they didn't wanted to outshine the TGS 2013 with big news (that's my own interpretation... you can say the wanted to make the GT6 news exclusives and not concurrent with TGS).

For now you can read about the tour that Eurogamer did in PD. It is a really nice article and shows to you how passionate Kaz is about his biggest franchise (and how funny is to work with it).

I know I know... I see some Porches... I see some MotoGP... big news, big news coming guys... hold the breath for today.

The definitive driving simulator is back (again).

Edit - The mod team will think I'm insulting you but for really everybody know who have the lack in read/write skills here... so to be clear and not get banned I'm the non-english user here, I'm the guy that lacks read compreensions.

Better not be (or be, not sure) GT6 is delayed to launch only on PS4

Some leaks are starting to out...

  • PD is deservingly proud for managing to implement dynamic tesselation on PS3
  • Youtube sounds are in fact different from actual life-sounds and real-life sounds are hard to implement
  • Sound processing takes lots of RAM from PS3 (for those who don't know, PS3 does not have separate sound-processor, it is the Cell GPU that does almost everything, from graphics to audio and it is pretty much choked when doing 7.1 surround for instance, op.a.) so sounds have to be compressed
  • PS4 will offer much more flexibility in the sounds area
  • Players without internet should not worry about "Day 1 patch" - they will get all content
  • 12 % increase of the resolution compared to GT5, GT6 will be 1440x1080p
  • Better lighting
  • Suppression of pixelated shadows (alpha maps)
  • Clean smoke
  • More animations on the track
  • No tearing
  • Refined textures
  • Top Anti-aliasing

GT Planet posted a new Interview with Kaz... some highlights (I didn't read all the interview yet):

  • Confirmed 20x20 km of Course Maker
  • Car Maker in thinking
  • B-Spec integrated in the A-Spec (as in GT4)

More to come soon.

Honestly, I most want to know about UI improvements. GT5 was lacking in that area.

GT6 will have 1,200 cars when I play splitscreen/arcade mode with a friend I fully expect to have acess to all 1,200 automobiles. I hope to see intuitive menu's not counter intuitive menus like it GT5.
If at least 1 on these things occur I will be a very happy boy!

How much square km is 20x20 km? 400? If so, is that larger than what was said recently

Never had trouble understanding the menu... but I played for more than 600h so can't evaluate if for first-timers its easy... and as far as I played local MP all the cars I had in my garage were usable, but for stock cars there were just a small sample.

The biggest news for now is the combined campaign A-Spec + B-Spec like GT4... it is so better than GT5 campaign.

And maybe the possibility of Car Maker.
