Yeah, funny thing is I saw analysts almost shrug off this immense historical data.  They are fixated on that notion because I am guessing they personally do not know people thta bought GTA but do know people who downloaded Angry Birds.

1000 divided by 70 = 14.2 million! That's a lot!

I think people are looking at the comparisons to COD wrong. Sure, GTA5 has an amazing start and will end up with amazing numbers. But, if you look at it as little different you will see that it isn't anywhere as big as COD. GTA only comes out every 5 years or so. COD comes out yearly. So, with a cost to each installment of COD there is still incredible profit EACH YEAR. Where GTA only makes that profit once. It seems that GTA might make 25-35% more than 1 years profit of COD. COD will make 4 times that profit in the meantime.

Just a thought.

Meh the comparisons are just comparisons. It is like Forza comes out most years and makes more money then GT. But GT sells more every 5 years or so.

Or an even worse comparison,  Crackdown comes out every few years for the most part and sells more then MLB the show. But MLB the show comes out every year and makes more profit then Crackdown.

So I think the comparisons are fine and a lot more interesting then the comparisons I came up with lol.

Me neither. My Scandinavian friends told me that the game costs 500 "kroner" in Denmark, Sweden and Norway which corresponds to $90. A large Scandinavian electronics retailer called Elgiganten sells it for $70, but apparently they have lost $20.000 on GTAV (I hope some of the customers bought a PS3 or an Xbox along with the game). x}

Still really impressive to sell 14 million copies in 3 days. Ö
