Horizontal, as always.

Vertical is a bit of a kids bedroom thing isn't it?

Whether someone chooses vertical or horizontal depends on which of the (2) conserves more space with their current entertainment setup. Not all setups benefit from a horizontal setup. Mine does, but in the room I keep the Wii in it definitely benefits more by me keeping the Wii in it's vertical stand.

Edit -

Now, I was just thinking. If your reasoning is indeed true, what do they do considering a very large portion of gamers are kids? Doesn't seem like a very smart move now does it?

did you just try to turn a perfectly reasonable and motiveless statement about vertical being more popular in kids bedrooms into console war point scoring?

Now how did you come to that conclusion?

You insinuated that placing a console in a vertical position was a kids bedroom thing and I was only pointing out that that is not true. The first portion of my post is entirely reasonable. You also did not make a statement, you asked a question. I simply answered.

As for the edit, I do not see any issue with that either. I mentioned it to show the big flaw in your logic and that if it was true then it is a bad design choice.

Don't blame me for you reading it the wrong way. There is no console war thing going on here, just discussion.

it did come across that way since i was thinking the same, now that he called you out on it and revealed your true goal dont blame it on him

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I will be getting ps4 next year. When I get it I will replace the HDD with SSD. I wish xbox one also had this option.

So you're going to spend another $200-300 just for a slight boost in game loading performance on top of the $400 console price?

I will be using SSD because.

1. Yes. I will get slight boost in loading screen.
2. I will put 128gb SSD (max) because I dont download games. I prefer retail copy.
3. The main reason is "fear". Some of my friends ps3's HDD died. So I feel insecure to store data in HDD. And my internet speed isnt good enough. So online storage is not suitable for me.

I Me and Kowenicki already discussed and obviously resolved our misunderstandings, which is why it did not escalate at all.

Check my post history and you will find I have positive and negative things to say about everything. There are no agendas here.

What's next? My goal in the Pokemon X & Y thread I created about it only supporting 3D in battles was me only wanting to trash Nintendo?

How about when I was used to frequent the Vita Official Thread? Was me constantly bitching about the Vita me just trying to put down Sony?

I guess my true goal is just to shit on gaming all together. You have me all figured out Kirby.

Pretty much confirmed that neither X1 or PS4 can be placed vertically.

PS4 has a vertical stand. Sony always displays it vertical.

Even the official box art for the console shows it vertical. What you just said is absolutely false.

available seperately, its on the box, but not in the box.

Never said it came in the box. He claimed (and admitting being wrong) that the PS4 and XBone both can not be placed vertically. I was only showing that Sony advertises the PS4 in a vertical position.

Also Kirby, just so I know, what is my true agenda?

I have admittingly expressed my displeasure about some of the decisions MS has made initially for the XBone (Those issues were only to due with 2nd hand market). I have admittingly expressed displeasure about not being able to purchase an XBone without a Kinect (This is my only real remaining gripe). I have admittingly criticized an advertisement that makes little sense to me and in here debated with Kowenicki about why console are placed vertical.

Other than that I have praised Crimson Dragon. I ALWAYS praise TitanFall. I am a known fan of the Fable franchise. Heck, I even say nice things about Lumia phones!

Before XBone's reveal I was also constantly within XBone threads expressing my excitement. Heck, I don't even complain about the TV features since I was one of the few here looking forward to MS TV apps like they have on the 360.

You clearly like to make accusations when you know little about me, which is odd since you have joined here before I did.

Hard Drives don't care if they are mounted horizontally, vertically or even upside down or even loosly hanging via a cable. :)

Given how they work I have a bad feeling when they are not operated horizontally. With an ssd I couldn't care less, of course.

Servers, desgined to be run 24/7, come in different HDD orientations. The position of the hdd doesn't matter.

I know, we have different storage-solutions at work. Still don't have a good feeling about this.

It sure sounds like MS did a slopy job (again...) designing the console. I mean, this thing is so huge that it wouldn't look good or be practical to put it vertically either way, but warning us that putting it vertically can damage the console not because it can fall to the side, but just because something will pop inside is worrying.

@Kowenicki - all my consoles stand vertically, this helps save space without building massive pyramids of hardware, so your theory sure isn't true. Additionally many consoles just look much better this way. Wii, PS2, X360 - horizontal is no competition. Wii looks like a regular poor DVD player if placed horizontally, not like a revolutionary piece of hardware it is.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Did i come closer to the truth then you liked?

anyway yes i made the mistake of responding before reading the rest.

but you should know me by now! i do respond on how i percieve things. So is it my fault that its can be percieved like that or what? and you know DAMN well how it was gonna be percieved ( adding to that i wasn't the only one)

i didn't react to the rest making remarks about it did i?

i view this message as basicly the same thing as "don't put a cat in the microwave and turn it on"
Don't put the One vertically or it might fall if hit

I have all my consoles, except for Wii, horizontally. It'd actually make a load more space if I stood them vertically, but I just cannot bring myself to do it in case something accidental happens when playing and it slices the disk in two. Or worse.

Not quite.

@italics

No problem, it happens.
