Forums - Nintendo - Mass Effect 3 Wii U

I know im a little late to the party, but i have to say Mass Effect 3 is a brilliant cinematic experience. I have really become engrossed in the sci fi world, and the character models are top notch, as is the voice acting. I know the Wii U has had a few dodgy ports, but the odd frame rate drop on the citadel aside, this game looks and plays brilliantly, its smooth as butter. I deffo recommend to fellow Wii U owners if you can pick it up cheap.

Had you played the first two games? I've been curious how it felt for people to jump into the trilogy at the very end like that.

Never played a Mass Effect game before now, but.. i managed to use the interactive comic for the backstory. Also it is really easy to pick up what has been going on, due to the stellar writing and believable voice acting. Im not ashamed to admit that i missed out on these type of big budget blockbusters, due to being primarily a Wii owner most of last gen before finally getting a PS3 late on. I know 3rd party on Wii U isnt stellar, but its been nice to have some blockbuster type games on a Ninty console.

hmm does that mean you cant get the best ending?

I have the Wii U version, and online multiplayer is great playing on the gamepad. Such a shame that it's missing some characters, but still fun. I have the entire trilogy on PC, so I know all about what happens, but I think the comic explains the first two games rather well, you wont be missing much in terms of story.

I believe the ending they had to go back and add as DLC is already on the disc.

ME3 was originally going to be the game I bought with my Wii U, but EA tricked that off with their actions lately. You can't announce the full trilogy right before the launch of the Wii U port and expect me to pay the same price. And then announce that there will be no DLC made available for it. I'll pick it up used sometime, probably when I randomly wander into a Gamespot or something.

What badgenome said. That seems to be the problem for a lot of people, and why it was strange to release the game on the Wii U in the first place. Surprised they did not at least do some digital games or something. Wasn't there some sort of book that came with it to explain?

No, I think what was really strange was EA releasing a competing product, for the same price on 2 other consoles that included the all 3 games at or before the release of the game on the wii u.

I jumped straight into Mass Effect 2 and had no problems understanding the deeper plot. Nice to know third was the same way for freshies.

Already have the game so I'm not going to double dip, but yeah wii u owners without it should really play this game.

yeah i bougth the game 15 days ago and all i can say is... it is an amazing epic game!! (yeah on my wiiu)

34 years playing games.

I never played the series but bought it for Wii U for under $20 on Amazon. Played it and got hooked... haven't finished it yet but will get back to it soon. Glad others are experiencing it too!
