The problem is my PS3 can already play COD, and AC and many other games that PS4 is toutting?

Why should I spend $500 to play one game, when I can play it for $60.

Because you will be able to play a better running, better looking games. It's something new, itwill have new features not currently available on current consoles.

Personally for me I love open world games and guess what they are the games that suffer the most and need the most power, so yeah want it... who wouldnt want GTA/Sleeping Dogs/Mafia 2 etc all on next gen consoles with the benefits that come with that.

You may not be interested in that, but me as a gamer who buys lots of games... yeah its important. :) - if you only buy FIFA or COD and that's it, then yeah I agree it's not so important, but then new consoles are probably not initially aimed at you in that case.

I also like open world games, and no I dont' play COD or sports games.

BUT what i'm saying is that as of now there is no distinction between current and next gen.  You can't honestly say that AC4 looks incredibly better on ps4 than ps3 or any other last gen system.  Or other big games this holiday such as watch dogs, and whatever else is multiconsole.

If they did I would be buying them on my PC, but a lot of them I"m getting on my WIi U.  Cause the difference is minimal, so I'm going for the unique control of gamepad.

very reasonable. they have the games to sell 5+ mill by then.

names please.

Only the obvious activision, ubisoft and ea titles of course, those being cod, bf, ac etc. Considering how well they perform on current gen, its a sure-fire bet that people interested in the next gen, seeing said popular games to be featured and specfically designed to complement the new hardware, will make the jump. IMO obviously.

Of course, if the ps4 launch were like the ps3 launch where lesser known titles and new IP's titles launched with the systems, then I wouldn't dare suggest 5 mil for the ps4 by the end of the FY.

THIS. my previous request for names was retorical because of that. since most of ps4 games are available on wii u/xone/ps360, they don't have the games to sell 5M by them.

Even if they are 1% better looking and running at 5 FPS better, I really don't care :) (I'm sure they will be better than that)... What I have seen so far of AC-BF looks pretty good... So i'm happy with that. Pretty sure WatchDogs will be better on next gen consoles and so will Battlefield. It may take a little while for these 3rd party games to get a big increase to current gen, but even small steps are better than no steps.

As for PC, I'm a console gamer, yeah sure I could play those that come out on PC with full specs, but that's not my thing. I'm talking about a console, and next gen consoles for me will push the games forward... cost is not an issue for the console, so why would i want to spend that £40 on a last gen game when i can get *some* improvements. I'm sure others will disagree but the more core console gamer will want to move across when they can.

Nonsense, people by consoles for the new features as well, plsu with f2p, and indies the PS4 ahs a robust launch lineup. More then enough games, time will prove you wrong. The demand for Ps4 is clearly high.

Very reasonable in my opinion.

Time has already proved me right. people buy videogames for games and so far, the absolute most of what's available on ps4's first months will be available for already existing platforms = not much insentive for many to switch to ps4.

I think thats a decent estimate on their part.

Nintendo predicted 5.5m Wii U's in the same time frame last year and it's fair to say the PS4 has much more hype surrounding it.

How can something that has not happened  yet prove you right? Is that some kind of twisted ZEN logic? The games will be better on PS4, and there are games you can only get on Ps4 not ps3...The demand is there. Sony has games, so your point is moot.

It is well within reasonable limits, this sales prediction. You're just against it because it's a sony console and not the wii-u. All signs point to a wildly sucessfull PS4 launch, and demand will remain high for a long time.

I think 5m is quite conservative tbh, I agree by March it has the ability to do higher.

Agree, i think most objective, level headed people see it that way.
