I laughed so much at the wii u bit
I want it on the Wii U... but didn't sign the petition because petitions hardly ever work. Look how long it took Earthbound to be re-released.... I would buy it on PC. I think the game looks awesome, but hardly ever use my ps3 anymore other then a blu-ray player. If I do pick it up on ps3 it won't be until it's $20 or $30 GOTY edition.
Yeah, right, and more of half of them will download the game from torent sites.
All these petitions are bullshit because average joe has no idea they exist. I mean I want GTA5 on PC or WiiU and never heard of those petitions.
Nintendo should make Publisher/Dev Miiverse accounts so Rockstar has one even tho they have no gamey yet. I am pretty sure that if enough people would ask Rockstar on WiiU and then it would appear on the Miiverse plaza even more people would jump in.
Having a random person creating a random petition on a random site that 95% of gamer population have never heard of without spreading the word makes no sense. Its like the people dont even try to make it happen.
(funny fact GTA5 will come to PC it always was on its way so those 400k people dont know anything about the gaming industry, rockstar or the GTA 5 series = wasted time and effort)

Haven't you heard? Piracy is on the decline in the PC realm, thanks to things like Steam, Origin, uPlay, Gog.com, Humble bundle... You name it.
Lets not forget that the PC is far more profitable than even the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 combined.
Or even that consoles are also not immune to piracy, in-fact it's stupidly simple.
Sad part about it is that the WiiU could handle GTA 5 better than the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 could on a technical level, so it all comes down to money really n the end.
Still, the best platform to play it on is of course the PC, heck GTA IV + Ice Enhancer looks far better than GTA 5 does, hopefully Rockstar doesn't pull a Red Dead Redemption and decides not to bother.

To put it simple, everyone is expecting a PC version of GTA sooner or later so they're signig the petition just to be sure, on the other hand no WiiU owner is realistcally expecting a port of it on the console so they don't even bother signig the petition (also WiiU userbase is small atm).

So clearly the 360 version didn't get leaked early on torrent sites and pirated?

For indie and online games surely, but that's it.
Usually it goes 360 > PS3 > PC in terms of profitability when we compare multiplat games.

Not always.
Even if a console version of the game does sell higher than it's PC counterpart, the PC has lower cost overheads because...
1) Most purchases are digital, thus higher profit margins.
2) Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo don't take a massive chunk out of the profits (They even do it to DLC!) or charge developers for mundane things like patches.
3) PC games have longer legs, often games hit the top of the sales charts because it's on sale, decades after release, that just never happens on a console.
Games like Minecraft and Diablo 3 outsold their multi-platform releases, by significant margins.
Overall, the PC games market is 20 Billion, The Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 combined is 15.5 Billion.
More games (Not just indie.) are available on PC than any other platform, decades long games library does that to a platform. :)
The other issue is, places like VGCharts doesn't track PC games very well because, well. Most of the sales are digital.

Yes it's sad but not much for the graphics, form what I've played so far I can tell GTA5 is one of those games that could improve a lot with WiiU control schemes, if proprely integrated.
The map plays a really meaninfull part of the gameplay, expecially during gunfires and when you're chased by the police, seeing it on the gamepad would be great, also it could simple down the control scheme a bit. Since you're using multiple characters in some missions you could have co-op play using 2 screens. Also GTAV has a lot of minigames that could make use of the wiimote + nunchuck, like tennis, golf, shooting range, etc.
