Really O.o My bet isn't MH4 to outsell MHP3 lifetime,  this thread is for comparison only! My bet is i win if MH4 sells over 3.6mil lifetime with 007 which means it needs 800k more!

Excuses? I put statements cuz its true, you have people that think MHP3 is killing MH4 in sales but fail to realize  its a holiday sale. This is why i put the first 20 weeks for a fair comparison. but they counter each other, as someone else has already stated, the launch time isnt a benefit towards MHP3 like you word it, because it had its holiday period sales in the early days, where as MH4 has its pre-holiday explosion then as things are gradually trailing off gets a boost from holiday sales again, essentially its launch timing is a benefit towards MH4 over MHP3.

In the long run its a benefit for MH4, but for the first month or so its not a benefit for MH4 compared to MH3P.  

Thus why when people come in and say "ha, MH4 didn't and won't sell as many as MHP3"  A good REASON 'not excuse' is that 3 has holiday boosted sales in its first few weeks of launch.

Holiday boosts are always annoying when talking sales.  For some reason people think games are better if they sell more in a month than one game, than a year.  Somehow people think a game is better if it sells 10 million week one and selling total 11 million year one, instead of 1 million week one and 11 million in a year.

800k isn't that hard. AC was doing 50k a week for over 4 months. MH4 still has holiday. TBH i wouldn't be surprised if it does it before Jan/Feb but who knows. Pokemon sales might actually help boost MH4 holiday sales but thats just a guess! Anywayz i'lll keep posting and updating! Keep up the good work with the media create/etc thread

For those wondering about Digital Sales, as I've said before, you can use the data from animal crossing's DL card vs eShop sales data to get a decent estimate of MH4's digital sales. There have been about 150K DL cards sold (Famitsu Data tracks DL cards, MC doesn't) and that accounts for 3/8 of total digital sales leaving about 250K Direct download so MH4 has sold about 2,950,000 copies including digital.

I can see an additional 150k for 3 weeks of sales. Its not too high considering its MH and its not too low! At least 2.9mil max 3mil! Good start

Monster Hunter 4 is currently 2,652,824 with its 5th week of sales, including digital its over 2.9mil!(digital only counts for FW sales)

Comparing to MHP3 5th week its almost a million under but the holiday effect will end in 2 weeks while MH4 will benefit in 3-4 weeks time!

ok MH4 officially over 3mil if you count just the digital sales fromfirst two days! This means the game can actually be ranged from 3.05mil-3.25mil!

MHP3 now just about done with holidays and MH4 about to enter, now the challenge begins, can MH4 pull a miracle?

7th Week was practically a tie but once again MHP3 beats sales by just 114. But if digital is included MH4 most likely beat it 7th week!
