Grand Theft Auto V has beaten Call of Duty: Black Ops to become the UK’s biggest ever video game launch.

GfK Chart Track data reveals GTA V sold 1.57m units during its first day on sale, generating over £65m in revenue.

It breaks the previous record set by Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, which sold 1.41m units for £58m back in November 2010.

GTA V launched Tuesday and saw consumers crowd outside 2,000 UK High Street retailers at midnight to get their hands on the highly anticipated title.

So in one day it sold more than the top 6 games combined in the UK for this year.  It also increased total software sales for the year by almost 10%.

More like Call of Doomedy.

Same thing with Poland, although it shows how little our market still is, over 60k copies in first 24h, as stated by Polish distributor Cenega. Got to keep in mind that we're still mostly PC oriented, so that had some impact on potential sales.

Nice for GTA V, 20M this year is achievable and it deserve it !

The game is banned in a few places so it might not beat CoD WW.

i assume so, defo for the fixed games,not sure about the monthly games they hand out though as i haven't renewed yet

if you get plus in before the 20th of dept you get 90 days on top i believe

yes that is what i do seems to work fine but you can still play them after a renewal
