Many have been wondering if a Gears of War game will appear on Xbox One, and Microsoft Studios Honcho Phil Spencer made an interesting statement about it today as part of an interview on Famitsu.com

Gears of War is developed by Epic Games, and they’ve been our partners for a long time on Xbox 360. You should ask Epic Games about what they want to do. We haven’t announced anything yet about Gears of War, but we hope to bring it to Xbox One in some form. However, there’s nothing more I can tell you at this time.

They should have Epic work on something new if they are planning to have them create something for the XBone.

I think Gears has run it's course and should be allowed to enjoy retirement.

This is so weird too. I was just talking with a buddy at work this morning about how the Gears franchise had a good run but should be shelved.

I'd rather have a new IP, preverably not a shooter, but it probably would be.

If it is then I want a new Unreal Tournament.

I always thought that a new UT comes out when a new version of the unreal engine comes out like a tech demo for it. Didnt they already announce UE4 which i would expect to have UT4

A new core exclusive ip sounds better.

Much like God of War, Gears of War kinda ran its course in my opinion, give it a rest or do a cool spin off, like a RTS or RPG.
And, God of War, just stop.

Unlike these guys above me, I'll take another Gears game. That game was the system seller for me on the 360 and would be for the Xbox One. Its tough finding great TPS, so I welcome a new Gears.

So bring it Epic Games

Also is it just me or is it weird that he says Epic developed the series, even though the latest game was made by People Can Fly? If there is a next gen gears, you can bet your butt it's being made by them.
