Forums - PC Discussion - A new case, what do you PC gamers think?

I really like my CoolerMaster WaveMaster case with how it looks and how it's metal, but it only has three 80mm fans on it and because I also have my overclocked CPU, I keep hitting the automatic shutdown with the heat threashold setting on my motherboard. I like the warning because I don't want to have a destroyed CPU on my hands so I've been lenient of it so far except for when I've got over 500 points in TF2 as a Sniper and I'm going in for my next kill when all of a sudden.... - *Powerdown* "NOOOOOO!!!!"

Thus, I've decided enough is enough and I just ordered the Antec Nine Hundred gaming case for better airflow and to sort of futurproof for upgrades later on. Reviews both on newegg and on other sites look very positive reviews (82% of reviews are 5/5 and there are 1851 total reviews for pete's sake). What do you guys think? I'm also picking up a Thermaltake 500w PSU as well since I've been suggesting a little deal with my parents and my dad has recently become more vocal about about it. My advice was since I upgraded some parts in my PC, I have extra parts and if they helped me get a new case and power supply, they can take my old parts and my old case.

I'm pretty excited, check this baby out. If this thing can move so much air, I'm pretty eager to see how much my temps will be reduced with better airflow. Not to mention that I really like the look of it as well.

I'm also picking up a 120mm fan for an optional space on the side.

Just for comparison's case, here's a picture I found on the net of the wavemaster that looks similar to how mine does.

500 points as sniper...probably 24/7 2fort right? Barf.

But wow, the airflow looks amazing on that thing...I'm very tempted to get one myself. I'm running out of a server case right now...hardly ideal.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I hope that you already have one of these.

 I dont even have one of those. Stock can work for minor OCs. Just need good airflow through the rest of the case.

I have an Artic Cooler for my CPU. My heat hasn't been too bad, but I would like to keep it as close to the comfort of room temperature as I can as well as get a fresh start on wiring everything to further improve airflow. Maybe then I can push my CPU up a little higher, but it is only a $90 e2160 cpu. I have it as a cheap space holder until I to add something else later on as well as an intro CPU to learn a little bit about how to overclock.

@Ben,

lol, totally 2fort but I was in there for a few hours though. 2fort and Dustbowl are pretty much my favorite maps. Sadly the DSL at our apartment usually sucks so my ping is usually at the 'barley bearable' point of 100-150 or it's jumping around from 200-500.

Let us know how it is once you get it. My parents might be wanting me to build a PC for them in the near future and that was one of the contenders for the case.
I'm currently looking at an NZXT case with 7 120mm fans.

I've built into a couple of those, and they are good, but I didn't like the look. I prefer these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129025 , if you add a decent PSU they are really quiet, as they have acoustic damping in the side panels.

To be honest I hate side windows and leds on cases. Im old school. Overall it is a great case (I like all the fans) and your processor and Hard Drives will thank you.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

@Mistershine

That one looks pretty slick. I'm not too worried about the noise though because I have 5.1 speakers and I've been wondering if it could even help me with my room mates and when they invite people over to stay up all night since my room is right there....
