In my view that is the best game in the series to date. Since that one I find the successive installments have been slightly inferior - but still great.

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

| okr said: Yes, Morrowind was the best of series. That said, I think it brings tears to the eyes of many WRPG fans seeing that the inferior Elder Scrolls is the RPG franchise which was allowed to survive while Ultima, Ultima Underworld, Wizardry and Might & Magic where forced to die a long time ago. |
Ultima IV lives on... in my iPhone.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Yes sir. If you still have an original xbox play it on that rather than a 360. Emulation on the 360 is good but it studders.

Glad to see so many fans of Morrowind here :)
I think it's slightly better than Oblivion, but I can't speak to Skyrim since I haven't played it yet.
Morrowind will and always will be one of the greatest games I have ever played. Despite the newer entries improving combat extensively, Morrrowind still takes the cake.
Oblivion was a nice improvement in combat and in inventory/quest structure but its addition of auto travel and lack of appealing environments was a shame. Oblivion added voiced dialog changing the feel and the content dramatically. With text they are allowed to do quite more than with voice and it showed. Things got rather dull in Oblivion, a lot of repeat, lack of content, and poor implementation.
Skyrim was a huge improvement on Oblivion, but the auto travel and some inventory changes are unfortunate. Skyrim's environments are great and the world is great. The voicing was much better and they were able to maintain a high content level. If they can really see what made Morrowind great and implement it further in games like they did Skyrim, I will be happy.
Each one had their shining gems and I can't wait to see their next rendition. I just hope they can make a world like Morrowind again and ditch this auto-led auto-travel structure. They just need more forms of transport, not insta-travel.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Morrowind's world was interesting, but the combat was atrocious. Oblivion's combat is shitty as well but better at least. Everything else was worse with Oblivion, it's lack of originality most of all. Oblivion barely has any redeeming qualities in my opnion.
Skyrim> Morrowind > Oblivion for me. I played them in order of release (although well after the release of Oblivion and Morrowind.)

thanks for the answer
Yeah, Morrowind is much better game than what came after it...M&M still trumps all TES IMHO.
