Has the game met your expectations in the fun department?

For the most part, yes. Some missions suffer due to the camera though, mainly because you can't see all enemies at all times and are prone to get hit by ranged attacks, if you don't carefully listen to the sound effects. That's obviously frustrating. Unfortunately, the sound effects band-aid doesn't exist in the auto-scrolling isometric shoot'em up sections, so strict memorisation is the only thing that will help you to earn better ranks.

But overall it's a very good game. It's reasonably long (15 hours) and has plenty of replay value. Achievements, collectibles, ranks, various difficulty settings and the satisfaction to get better at the game. It's well worth the money. The framerate only rarely takes a dip and the soundtrack is fantastic. Nothing better than kicking ass while great music is playing.

Sounds like a Platinum game alright. This game is on my 'to get' list once I purchase a Wii U, and I guess it´s well on its way to becoming a cult classic in the future.

Is the Gamepad mandatory or can you play it with a Pro controller?

Around the Network

I'm playing through it right now. It's the most original game I've played this year. The combat system is so deep it reminds me of Street Fighter II. Weird comparison I know, but that's how it makes me feel, and that's a very good thing.

Platinum games never get good reviews.

Hold the phone! Since when is a meta of 79 not "good reviews"? In fact W101 has no bad reviews at all its lowest score is a 60 which is still an OKish review score.

Let's not make excuses for the inexplicably bad sales by claiming reviews have killed it, 79 score games can and do sell pretty well. Certainly a lot better than W101 has sold to date.
