And I'll name them. At least 10 of them should be pointing out the obvious.

People are exaggerating how big Brawl is going to be. Sales estimates well above 15 million, talk of how its "Nintendo's biggest franchise" or will be the "defining game on Wii." Biggest case in point: on theSimExchange, Brawl is valued above 17M in sales. At its highest, it topped 20M. 

Let me first name 12 sure bets. I guarentee that each and every one of these games will sell more than Brawl. (Sales numbers from earlier today.)

Brawl will cruise past the sales of the previous versions. It will make a run at 10 million sales. But it will not be the biggest game this generation. It will not sell 12, 15 or 20 million.

you notice that half of those games are for ds giving them a huge ad. b.c of price and they have already been released...

not sure about halo 3 and gran torismo though...

 U R WRONG - First of all, SSBM is not this generation and even if it was, u don't think Brawl will sell bettr than it did even with a higher install base!?!?!?!?!? 2nd of all, there is much more hype around  Brawl than there was for galaxy and launch numbers prove it. Not only will SSBB have a big launch, it will hav egreat legs too. IMO, because the Wii install base will most likely gorw to 60 million minimim, I'd say that SSBB will selll 12 million AT THE VERY LEAST - i expect near 20 million - meaning it will beat everything on that list exceot Nintendogs, Wii Sports and possibly MK Wii

Almost all those are DS games...and that's just a stupid comparison, sorry.

And I don't think anybody here expects Brawl to get 17 million, at least not after a long time...

And I think you're UNDERESTIMATING the demand that Brawl is receiving. It's getting a LOT more hype than Melee ever did, AND it's getting hyped way more than SMG and MP3 combined...this game will sell very well. Just look at SMG's first week of 400k or whatever compared to nearly a million of Brawl.

DSoverPSP: But people buy half as many games for handhelds, too. And previous to DS, only 8 handheld games sold more than Melee. Ever. 5 of them were Pokemon games, and 2 more were pack-ins. Already being released provides no advantage since I'm talking lifetime sales.

Therefore, this list is extremely flawed for it does not define what "this generation" is. SSBM is def. last generation so that already invalidates the list

Smash 64 and Melee sales numbers are only in there for reference. I didn't number them, and am obviously not counting them as "this gen."

 I expect the Wii to have 6+ 17 million sellers.
