Forums - Sony - Killzone Shadow Fall "Running far above 30 frames."

Can't wait for this 60 fps madness to go away. Overrated, overhyped, over-everything. Is it noticeable? sure. Is it cool to have? Yup. Is it important? NO.

Something a console fan would say. 60 FPS is VERY IMPORTANT FOR FLUIDITY. I guess whenever you've played at 30FPS all your life you wouldn't understand. It's important to me. What gets me is when someone actually believes you cannot see above 30 FPS. The FPS in a game are far different from the FPS in recorded video.

I honestly don't care. I never even think about it unless someone mentions it on a forum somewhere.

same thing here. personally i cant tell the difference. i prefer better visuals and physics over frame rate. honestly i would have preffered more players online than both 1080P and 60FPS

I used to carry this too, the "graphics > framerate" feeling. If not for PC gaming, I'd probably still be that way, but once you get used to a certain crisp, smooth feel, it's hard to go back to 30FPS and not notice the huge difference.

Exactly. Especially in fast paced games.

not really sure. i played FarCry3, Tomb Raider and DmC on either 50+ FPS a second or 60 FPS. and really i cant say i noticed that much of a difference. i go back and fourth between playing games on my PC and PS3 and really dont feel a difference. im sure if i paid attention i would notice. but being a console gamer most of my gaming life i just got used to 60 FPS. 30FPS is perfectly fine with me, id rather see better AI or better visuals.

the PS3 could do 1080P 60FPS...

Wipeout HD: Fury has this. It just have very very few moving parts.

I significantly prefer 60FPS with a high resolution, with the extra effects the least important in my view. Whether it gets up to 60 FPS, is ofcourse optimization of the engine, and/or how many effects the dev wants to reduce.

BK.  If you prefer visuals over framerate.  Play the PS3 version of Oblivion which is a stable 30fps.  Don't even have to play too far, just play 30 minutes into it.  Then play Dead Island on the PS3.  Get past the tutorial and play a little ways into the main storyline.  Like a few main quests, make sure to kill a lot of zombies.

You will notice the game has barely playable to unplayable framerate.  I really have no idea how I got through the game the first time I played, because later on I decided to play it again since a friend was going to play it, and I couldn't make it past the two main storyline chapters the framerate was so bad.  Not that I diied or anything.  The framerate was just such an annoyance I had to turn it off.  That and the screen tearing.  The game has constant screen tearing and framerate issues.  Dead Island will constantly hit 0fps at times on the PS3.  No joke.  This is why Deep Silver is one of t he worst publishers of all time, because when they finally release a good game, those of us who prefer PS3 gets a port that's absolute shit.  Dead Island Riptide has the same framerate and screen tearing issues as the original on the PS3.  Good on the 360.  Better on PC.

As long as it runs smooth i don't care how much FPS it runs at.

I feel like almost only pc gamers see the difference, and only pc gamers really cares.

I still don't even though I play BF3 at 120FPS on Ultra.
